Lynn Allen Jeter, LisaRaye’s Publicist, Speaks Out

On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of speaking with the Grand Diva Lynn Allen Jeter of Lynn Allen Jeter and Associates. She’s the the publicist to Turks & Caicos First Lady LisaRaye McCoy-Misick, legendary singer Teena Marie, and Eva Pigford’s boyfriend Lance Gross, among her other clients.

You already know what went down in the Turks & Caicos Islands between LisaRaye and her husband, the Premier Michael Misick. We won’t go into all of that. Miss Jeter instead spoke of a woman who was determined to keep her marriage intact. A woman who stuck by her man despite the rape allegations and corruption charges leveled against him.

According to Miss Jeter, LisaRaye and her husband still “love each other” and after the incident went down, Misick called Miss Jeter’s phone and asked to speak with his “wife”.

She also said Misick did not hire a private investigator to track LisaRaye’s movements in the states, but his security did follow LisaRaye while she was on the island. Miss Jeter said she was not involved in the altercation that took place inside the Misick home last week.

“I was outside sitting in LisaRaye’s jeep the entire time,” she said. “I try to squash rumors so people can have actual facts.”

What follows are the facts according to Miss Jeter:



Sandra Rose: I know that LisaRaye attended Jermaine Dupri’s Weekend here in Atlanta…

Lynn Jeter: Let me just give you the back story: she was not at the music festival in the Turks & Caicos because her husband asked her not to come because of the political climate there [and] because of the allegations of corruption and he was under, you know, scrutiny and all that… So he didn’t wanted her subjected to any of that. It was a bad time for her not to come but he wanted it to appear that it was just their party.

Oh…

That is what he told her. She was respecting his wishes. She went to Jermaine’s party in Atlanta and after there, she went to NY to [Lil] Kim’s party. She left and came back to L.A. And then from there… she went to Turks on that Tuesday (8/5). Kim’s party was on Sunday and [LisaRaye] went to Turks on that Tuesday and stayed in her home - with her husband - on that Tuesday.





So she was in the home with him?

That’s why I’m trying get your facts in order as opposed to hearsay. The week before last week’s incident, LisaRaye had been there which was the Tuesday after the music festival, she was there Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. She came back home [to Turks] and she left on Friday [and] went to Chicago to do the Bud Billiken Parade. Left there, came back to L.A. to judge a pageant. Left on Sunday night (8/10) - we all left on a red-eye at the request of Michael [Misick] to go back to Turks & Caicos and have a meeting on Monday (8/12) with her attorneys, his attorneys, his damage control PR person and her damage control PR person: me.

Right, right…

So those are the facts. She was in her home the week before. When we left on Friday [8/8), Michael saw her off and everything.

Okay, so once you sent that email, do you think that’s what really enraged him? Because when she came back to the islands, that’s when he said, “uh uh, you can’t come in.”

That’s not true! You’re not listening to me! That was after that email was sent that she was in the house! You’re not listening, honey. You’re not connecting the timeline!

You’re right. I apologize.

That email was on ****. I pulled it down on that Sunday night. Someone called me and I saw it on a Sunday. That Monday I believe is when I pulled it down and sent it out… LisaRaye was there that Tuesday at her home with her husband in their house.

Okay, so did we all misunderstand the email that you sent because it sounded like…

You misunderstood the email. The email was a rumor about Rocsi being at the Turks & Caicos festival with LisaRaye’s husband in LisaRaye’s home. I pulled it down and added my contact information so the media could speak to LisaRaye and get the facts.

Right. Because it seemed like it came from you.

We know what it seemed like. I’ve explained that to several people. But if you go back and you see.. they’ll find that it didn’t come from me. You can go back and track any email you want, it did not come from me. See, I really care that if someone wants facts, I’ll give you facts. If you want rumors, they’ll give you rumors. I’ll give you an example: after she went to Turks & Caicos on that Tuesday, there was a rumor in the NY Post saying that they had reconciled and she was moving back in the house. So there’s just a lot of rumors. So what I do, I go to people like Lee (Bailey) of EURweb.com with the facts because they care. They don’t want to hear reports of rumors and what they read on the Internet when they know they can go to a source and get some facts. So I’m willing to give you the facts that you may want to know. But the timeline is right up to the music festival. LisaRaye was there in her home. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday [and] she left on Friday.

Right.

When you guys saw her in Atlanta was because her husband asked her not to come to the music festival otherwise she would have been there. So those are facts.

Okay, so is Rocsi and Michael Misick in a relationship?

As far as I know, they are.

They are?

Now I’m not seeing them [inaudible] it’s hearsay from me. But there’s an awful lot of people on that island that’s been talking about Rocsi coming down there for over four months.

Okay, so she was…

And there’s a whole bunch of witnesses that were there during that music festival [who saw] them being awful familiar and that’s why LisaRaye got all these text messages and emails and phone calls about the whole music festival and Rocsi. If you interview any of his staff, I mean, they’ll have to tell you the truth especially if there was a subpoena about her being in that house.

So I wonder what happened that made him turn against his wife just like that?

No, I think don’t think he turned against his wife at all. Because I think… well, let me give it to you…

Because he sent out a…

Hold on, hold on. I want to make you understand it okay? Okay. Sandra?

Yes.

Um, the incident happened on Wednesday, supposedly LisaRaye ransacked the home and all that b*******?

Right.

That was on Wednesday supposedly when I assaulted someone on Wednesday night, right?

Right.

On Thursday all day, for over 6 hours LisaRaye was at the police department filling out reports. We left the police department and went to have dinner that night. When we left the police department, LisaRaye knows her husband so well that she said to me in the police car - cause the policeman is driving us to dinner. We’re not in her car anymore because we had been followed by all these media people so it’s like a frenzy at this point.

LisaRaye wasn’t arrested?

No one was arrested and no one was hospitalized! We go to dinner and on the way to dinner, she says, “Lynn, Michael will be calling you I’m sure,” I say, “excuse me? No he won’t.” [Lynn mimics LisaRaye’s voice] “He will be calling and say, ‘may I speak to my wife,’” I looked at her like you crazy, no he won’t. So we get to the restaurant. We’re there, we order appetizers and my phone rings and it’s the Premire Michael Misick saying, “Lynn, Where are you?” And I said, “having dinner.” He’s saying, not LisaRaye, “Is my wife with you?” He asked, “may I speak to my wife?” I couldn’t believe my ears!

Wow.

So this girl knows this man so well. That had there not been an audience at that house on Wednesday, none of that would have went down. She would have went in that house and stayed in that house and there would have been no incident. She predicted that too. So I no longer really question her because she knows her husband to that degree. And Michael Misick called [on] Thursday after the incident to check on his wife… to speak to her to tell that ‘I love you’ and all that b******* that people do.

Okay, I’m confused about that…

I am too. You see what I mean? I’m confused because to me, what people don’t really understand is that the average woman would not have stayed by this man through a rape allegation. And would have not stayed with this man through other allegations like corruption. They’re not gonna put you in the spotlight to embarrass you and actually cause your show to be canceled - your reality show that you had that you and Michael were doing - no longer was alive because of the allegations of rape. The whole pilot was done. So here is this woman standing by her man [inaudible] being supportive… So all of a sudden she’s a golddigger? She’s all of that? No. I don’t know a lot of people that would have the constitution and the strength to be in the limelight and the embarrassment of the limelight of what’s going on with her husband. That’s like standing by the governor who was gay. That was a different kind of woman. So people are not taking into account that LisaRaye… could have filed for a separation and come back to the states immediately after the [rape] allegations.

SR: She sure could have.

But she didn’t. She believed in her husband, she stood by her husband and she loved her husband. I personally believe that the love between them, it kept going back and forth with them through all these tough times because Michael could only focus on the allegations. He couldn’t truly focus on the marriage. He’s going to focus on his life, his legacy and not getting any jail time.

Right.

His wife seemed to understand that because she stood by him even with the marriage being put on a back burner. So all of the b******* that I’m reading on the site, people need to give their due diligence and use their deductive reasoning skills. How could this woman still be with this man that was accused of rape and the case does not get ruled one way or the other… if she didn’t love him?

True. So you’re saying that they both still love each other?

Well you tell me what you think why somebody would be calling somebody after they had an altercation? He called the very next day. You tell me what that is, girlfriend. Call it anything you want to call it. I personally believe there must be some love between [them].

But he announced his plans to divorce her.

What did you say?

He announced his plans to divorce her.

No, he announced his plans to separate. The word “divorce” was nowhere in his statement.

But isn’t it true that a married couple in Turks & Caicos has to be married for three years before they can divorce?

That’s right. So you answered your own question. You know that Michael has not filed for divorce ’cause Michael knows the law. So the statement that Michael read said separated. It did not say divorced anything. You have to go through a due process to be able to get a decree of divorce before the three years. That’s the law in Turks and Caicos.

So I guess the confusion lies in the fact that he has filed for a separation. That’s where the confusion comes in.

It is not… I’ma say it again Sandra… He has not filed anything. He has made an announcement. You guys really need to read more carefully as journalists. His announcement said that they are separating and they hope to do it amicably. And they hope that the public will respect their privacy. That’s all his statement was. The statement from Michael does not use the word divorce. He has not said they have filed ’cause they have not filed. No papers have been filed.



Miss Jeter also brought up the photos of LisaRaye with bite marks and bruises on her upper body and thighs. Jeter claimed she didn’t know where those photos came from or how they came to be in ESSENCE magazine’s possession. After wrapping up the interview I realized I forgot to ask the question that is on everyone’s mind: is LisaRaye dating NBA player Gary Payton as was rumored? I put that question to Miss Jeter by email last night and she graciously responded - and I quote:


NO, SHE IS NOT DATING ANYONE. SHE IS A MARRIED WOMAN. STILL, YOU KNOW HOLLYWOOD PEOPLE HAVE A LOT OF JUST MALE FRIENDS NO DATING. FRIENDS AND A LOT OF HYPE ON FRIENDSHIPS IN HOLLYWOOD. MY MALE CLIENTS CATCH IT WITH THEIR FEMALE FRIENDS TOO. HAVE A GREAT NIGHT.
