A Major Case of The Pot + The Kettle: PETA KILLS Animals!

  • Rating: No Rating
Statistics show that PETA looks to be  fighting a lost cause:
Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed 95 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2008. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the animal rights group kills an average of 5.8 pets every day at its Norfolk, VA headquarters. According to public records from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, PETA killed 2,124 pets last year and placed only seven in adoptive homes. Since 1998, a total of 21,339 dogs and cats have died at the hands of PETA workers. Despite having a $32 million budget, PETA does not operate an adoption shelter.

PETA employees make no discernible effort to find homes for the thousands of pets they kill every year. Last year, the Center for Consumer Freedom petitioned Virginia's State Veterinarian to reclassify PETA as a slaughterhouse. CCF Research Director David Martosko said: "PETA hasn't slowed down its hypocritical killing machine one bit, but it keeps browbeating the rest of society with a phony 'animal rights' message. What about the rights of the thousands of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that die in PETA's headquarters building?"

Martosko added: "Since killing pets is A-OK with PETA, why should anyone listen to their demands about eating meat, using lab rats for medical research, or taking children to the circus?" CCF obtained PETA's "Animal Record" filings since 1998 from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Members of the public can see these documents at PetaKillsAnimals.com.

So, when PETA is pushing for this or that person to be hanged because of their cruelty to animals, we need to realize, they are doing it to keep a cake job and not exclusively for the purpose of the animals humane treatment. For PETA to have a $32 million dollar budget and not locate new homes for animals gives us the hunch that something screwy is going on... plain and simple.

About time someone shined the light on PETA.....through all the years of their theatrics (throwing paint on people wearing furs among other things) I NEVER stopped wearing furs or leathers because not all animals are killed inhumanely, but THIS is really hypocritical, corrupt & despicable

I have play devil's advocate. Yes Stallworth drove under the influence and that was wrong, but the man was not in the crosswalk. Jaywalking is a crime and you cross the street at your own risk if you are not in the crosswalk. Here in DC you are suppose to stop for pedestrian, but if you wanna have your stupid rule defend you against my big-body Tahoe, then go ahead try your luck. We learn all the things we need to know in life in Kindergarten, one of them being how to cross the street. I really disagree with the whole idea of these contradictions, like if you break in my house and don't have a weapon but I kill you, I would get charged with murder. As if just because the robber didn't bring a weapon he couldn't have use something in my house as a weapon, it's all BS! I am sorry the man got killed, but Stallworth should not be held fully liable.

I agree with you, especially since the man was crossing a main highway...at night...it's like people in miami don't know, or don't care what the rules are, especially since most can't even speak english..but that's a whole different conversation.

but shame shame shame on peta...

.....for now. Do yall really really think he's gonna stay retired? He has such an ego. Plus, I'm sure he still yearns for a championship and would like to be back on top where he once was. What happened? I remember when he was drafted. He was #1...

Men love the thrill of the chase (make the guy chase a little longer next time). Take it as a learning experience. He may be sincere or he may be telling you what you want to hear (false hope). Hopefully you'll come out on top the next time around...
