I couldn't live without my acrylics! There's something about getting a fresh fill every 2 weeks that makes me feel pretty and fresh. I have stiletto nails (not super pointed though) and I LOVE them. The only time acrylics look bad are if they are too long, too grown out, or that crazy fluorescent pink we all got for Spring Break as freshman lol

I love them to! i like to keep them short with a french manicure. To me it looks simple and classy. What are stiletto nails i've never heard of them

I used to do acrylic nails like 12, 13 years ago. You mean with tips right? I hate tips! Now I just get a gel overlay or my natural nails. I like them clear, with no color and sport square shape. sometimes I let them grow a bit, but never long. But if you are young and not in a professional position, I say go for it!

Just curious, what don't you like about tips? I wanted to get the overly but i have a horrendous nail biting habit which made them nearly impossible to grow out. I used to get my natural nails done but they chip so easily! How do you make the polish last?

i do gel overlay on my natural nails also ... i use to do acrylic but for some reason because my hands and fingers are small the look bulky....so now i just grow my own nails ... i am kinda guilty of designs on the ring finger ... i know its not as classy as a french manicure ...but its my gulty pleasure ....my nails are really long and they are in the round shape... for the vintage look ... but most people actually like it cuz they are real ... but i dont think acrylic nails are taky ... it just depends on how the are done ... but they do got those gel nails ... for a more natural look .

@boss when I read "stiletto" I thought about the real sharp lookin rihanna new style ish. @BL, I just dont like the thickness that comes with tips. I keep my nails done so they'd always grow out and I dont like them too long, so I just figured that the overlay was the best thing for me. You should get the tips until your nails grow out, then have the tips taken off and overlay placed on. I like gel cuz it stays shiny and is not like a polish. When I do get polish, I try not to drag my nails across things, and I put a clear top coat on like every 4 days. It looks good until my next appointment.

I had them one time in my life.. hit my hand on something and the pain was unbearable. Never got them again. I have a long nail bed though..really dont need them.

Me, too.  I dont remember hitting my hand or anything but they were painful.  My natural nails grow pretty long with no pain so I was done with that.  I think I took them off early, too

I have natural nails that grow pretty long.  Ive had acrylic put over my nails to stop them from breaking and i hated having to get it soaked off.  Im honestly thinking who doesnt get fake nails????

Lol at the pain, yea, that's sure is the down side. When they put the stuff on it is tight, I guess that's what I can call it. Sometimes it tingles while it dries. And if u break one......yea, hurts! I got jumped like three years ago, lol, and my fingers hurt so bad after that ish! Anyway, my real nails don't grow well, break right off without an extreme hardner on them

i used to get acrylic every once in a while, but every time I was due for a fill-in, i'd just take them off and I didnt like how my cuticles look and I didnt like that they didnt do your cuticles. I like gel nails, I like that you actually get a manicure and not just they nail tech slapping stuff on your nails. I have long nail beds so I dont really need acrylic

Stiletto nails are the kind that Draya, Rihanna & Beyonce rock except I keep mine a little more rounded so they don't look like daggers like Lady Gaga's do. They are sexy! I'll upload a picture for you :)
