Am I Asking For Trouble.... Confused
Hey all! I need some advise/opinions.. As, I have previously posted, my relationship ended about 6 months ago, and I have been living "la vida loca". Recycling a couple of guys from my past, just to pass time.
So, I run into this guy that I have known since Jr High school. We talk, exchange numbers and have since met for dinner to catch up. Problem is that he used to date my step-sister. This has been over 12 years ago. She is since happily married and lives in another state. Even as teenagers, he and I were always real cool. So, its been maybe 3 weeks ago, and during our calls or text he has hinted to us seeing each other on a more regular basis. I told him that I didnt think that was a good idea, because of the obvious reasons. He says that it doesnt matter becasue they were "kids" and who gives a damn what people have to say. I like him, we have fun together, its easy being around him and Im not looking to fall in love or anything. So.. do I throw caution to the wind and roll with the flow, or end all communication with him??
Sidenote: My step-sister and I have never gotten along since the day we met and still don't to this day. We tolerate one another for the sake of our parents. My dad is married to her mom.

Thank you! I dont know if they were ever physical. She was 13-15. We didnt stay in the same household, so I wasnt in her mix like that. He says they didnt; but of course he may very well be lying..

I say go for it. I agree with him that it doesnt matter since they were kids. If you really worried tell her about it before you start dating out of respect (yeah i saw that you'll dont get along but it will squash any drama ahead of time). But why should you miss out on someone you enjoy being around because something that happened 12yrs ago.

I agree! That was childhood and STEP is not blood. She probably would have done it to you if she didn't before she got married.. Just see where it goes, and take your time.

It depends. If you wanna mess around with a guy who doesn't care much for family relationships good or bad and only cares about himself, go ahead. Is he really worth the drama? Just because she was 13 yrs old at the time doesn't mean the relationship wasn't important. If they went out for 2 weeks then go for it. But if they had oral sex and you kiss him..........well you get the idea.

I agree with what everyone else said. But I have a situation to add. I worked with this girl who was from Greece almost ten years ago and she was getting married and moving back to Greece. I was so happy for her and we would always talk about her "Big Fat Greek" wedding and her Fiancee who was a cop. I asked her how they met and she said, "Oh I dated his brother" I must have looked at her strangely because she said, "Oh we were just kids, and it's not like we ever did anything", She didn't say anything but she gave off the virgin vibe anyway. But the point is, you never know this could go nowhere or it could go all the way. I would NOT let some b**** I'm just cordial with stand in my way. If you feel like calling and telling her fine, but I wouldn't even feel obligated to do that. She's married and they were "Just kids". If she was screwing him at 13 shame on her ass. Go for it girl!
