If it were just ýour son and the girl then I would definitely consider it a date. But because the other little boy is going its more of a group outing...

Let him go if only for the fact that if he doesn't see the movie this wknd, he's going to feel left out @ school on Monday when the other kids are talking about it...

This is a DATE. Becky or not, if it was a group of them with 2 parents then that's OK. But the 2 of them, it's a date.

Sarah Palin said she did not know her daughter was sexually active. Hmmmmm, what did she think they were doing??

I AGREE 100 PERCENT WITH YOU, THINGS ARE MOVING TO FAST THESE DAYS. I WISH I WOULD HAVE EVEN ASKED THESE KINDS OF THINGS WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, WE KNEW BETTER!!!

I FEEL TODAY THAT PARENTING HAS GONE TO HELL AND I RESPECT YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING NO!!!!!! HE IS TO YOUNG TO BE DOING ANYTHING FOR REAL!! LOL

MY BOYFRIEND AND HIS SON LIVES WITH ME, I DO WHAT I CAN BUT I LEAVE MOST OF THE PARENTING TO HIM BECAUSE HE THINKS I'M STRICT. PLEASE BELIEVE I'M NOT STRICT I JUST HAVE STRUCTURE AND HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY. IT USE TO MAKE ME MAD BUT I JUST SAY F*CK IT; THATS HIS SON.

SEEING THIS MADE ME THINK ABOUT OUR RELATIONSHIP AND TRUST I'M THINKING WHAT YOUR THINKING BUT THATS ANOTHER STORY! LOL SO SAD

ANYWAY........ I CAME HOME YESTERDAY AND HIS SON HAD A NOTE ON THE TABLE THAT STATED THAT HE WENT TO SEE HIS GIRLFRIEND AT CHEERLEADER PRACTICE, HE IS 10 ALSO. SO I ASKED THE DAD WAS IT OK AND HE SAID WELL, HE WASN'T LYING AND I WOULD RATHER HIM BE SEEING A GIRL THAN A BOY BECAUSE YOU KNOW HIS MOM IS GAY. (I JUST SHOOK MY HEAD)

I would also consider how well you know the people he is going with. If you don't know them, then I maybe I wouldnt let him go. But if you know them and semi-trust them as friends then it might not be a big deal. It's all your discretion.

I say no....you're a little old-fashined perhaps but there's nothing wrong with that at all...more parents need to be nowadays maybe their kids wouldn't be having oral sex in bathrooms at the age of 8 and all that craziness....2 girls and 2 boys is a double date and i agree with KJ if you're not familiar with the mother who will be chaperoning, if her parenting skills are up to par, I definitely would not send him...I wouldn't send him on a double date at that age but if you're still on the fence about that I'd talk with the mother to see where her head is....

I thought about it all night and he isn't going... if he wants to see new moon, I can take him. otherwise, he'll just have to miss it.

I just think of my own upbringing, I had my 1st lil boyfriend at 14... going together for us was him walking me to class & carrying my books, & slow dancing at the friday night dances. thats it... we weren't allowed to go on dates, heck we could barely talk on the phone until I was like 16...

If the mother had seemed at all concerned about her daughter asking a boy out, then maybe... but she thought it was cute & cool. Um, no its not. And I pulled one of my mom's classic lines. "you do know we're black right?" She was like "yeah, girl"... again, NO...

I've always experienced parents being overly protective of daughters, so I am truly shocked that it doesn't bother her that her daughter is so forward. Also, the other boys mom called, and she has the same reservations that I have. So, I am not alone...

Heck when I was was 11yr.old I could barely spend the night at my best friends' house and we stayed in the same apts back then.I couldn't go on an actual date until damn near 17yr.old and years of begging my mom that is....thanks mom :)

oh no no.... i don't think ur old-fashioned at all. i 100% agree with u. If your instincts are telling u no, then NO... And as some said, be weary of the "Becky" parenting... their kids are a little too fast for me. Their problem is they wanna be friends with their kids vs. being a real parent with structure & still hold an emotionally close bond with ur kid. Think the friend's mom in Mean Girls Lol... anyway, that would be a double date & at 11 that's too young... since u said he's mature, maybe 13 would be cool but still in a group setting
