See thats the thing....im on leave from work for school and I went to get assistance because my union rep at work said I qualified..thats how I found all of this stuff out.  And yes my daughter does have a disability that required therapist and specific schools bc she does need extra help.

Nope, youre not wrong, that bish is foul.  She doesnt want anything to do with ur daughter, yet she using her to get money????  stop that ish and do it fast, she'll be shocked when she get that letter telling her no SSI.  You didnt know tht your daughter qualified for SSI because she had/has a disability???   If shes getting some kind of assistance you need to make that known, because you could be owing money back to the ppl since you are working and because she was getting assistance.  SHe prolly had no choice but to file child support, when you get assistance, most times they pursue a child support case on their own -- ooh, she would def be owing me some money back.  Have you contacted her and let her know that you know?

This is the thing in illinois...ITS HARD AS HELL TO GET CUSTODY. Took me over 6yrs to get custody even though she lived in me.  Basically you have to have your entire stuff together or illinois courts will not award you custody.  I just got custody 2yrs ago simply because I had a great job, i owned my home, have 2 cars, in school , and had a plan on how she would succeed.

they generated a letter right in front of me to come after her for the money

yeah...if youre a woman in illinois YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO TO THE FATHER. You dont have to provide any type of proof that he's not in the childs life. you can do what you want

From what I know they rarely ask a woman for proof of custody of the child something similar happened with my dad when I was living with him...and he was granted custody in court. As for the baby momma you reap what you sow...you should not feel any type of way by doing right by your child.

I had to walk out the office and catch my breath...this chic collected over 120k these past 9yrs..im like OMG thats my daughters college education RIGHT THERE.

Im like wth.  I worked out a deal with my parents so they could take care of her tuition while im in school paying my own tuition (just until my job payed it back) and she couldve received it right then and there

i went back and wrote some extra stuff in what i originally wrote. Why isnt your daughter's mom in her life? Why doesnt she want to be? I'm always curious when i find out that the father has full custody. My daughter's father tried to pull that and ultimately we have 50/50, but at one point in time, i was afraid he would get it beacuse his life seemed mre "stable"

He was shacking up with this woman for years, a week after he filed for residentail custody, they get married (side-eye) so, he wanted to look like the low-budget Huxtables with a wife, two puppies,his daughter and a step daughter. While he tried to paint me a some down trodden, low-income chick who still lived with her family. They even went so far as to say I was "homeless" because i lived with my family. His wife is a school teacher, so they went in her handy-dandy CPS handbook which says that if you are living with a family memeber, you are "doubling up" and therefore, homeless. He tried to pull thaqt s*** a couple years ago talmbout," i'm not dropping her off to you because the court order says she is to be dropped off at her residence, and you dont have a residence" Like I'm on  a damn park bench or something! So, if i wanted her that day, I had to come get her.

She originally wanted us to be together but I said no bc shes crazy as hell. So she remarried and had 2 other children with this guy.  Now that she had her fam over there she straight neglects my daughter as if she doesnt have 2 take care of her because daddy got it.  So its no room for me to eff up because its just me and her to the wheels fall off.  It wasnt because I wanted to be a punk about it. It was because my daughter deserved stability,consistency, and a peace of mind.  She can come home do her work/chores and chill out like a kid.  Instead of being 2 kids baby sitter and going hungry because shes to busy helping them to eat.

No but just the same way I give single Mom's their props for doing it all...Single fathers get it too...because anyone doing it alone instead of both parents is doing their job and someone elses.  Parenthood can be a thankless job, (rewarding but thankless)

You are absolutely right to go after what is your daughter's! Her mother is scandalous! And she will one day reap exactly what she has sewn.

 

I know a guy in a similar situation. He is paying his children's mother child support and they live with him 24/7/365 but it is difficult for him to get full custody. And she does little to nothing with her own children. I said, the first time me and that chick meet there is going to be a misunderstanding of epic proportions.
