It's not....the majority of us(men and women) know when a woman has a weave in.  I mean really, not to many women have real "16-18" "ocean wave" hair.....It's just about it looking nice.  When you wear a weave, wear it well.  Don't be walking around with a helmet on your head, have all yall tracks showing, have hair not blended well, etc......Its just like your real hair - don't half ass wear a hair style.

People assume I have a weave when my natural hair is straightened because of course, brown skinned girls can't possibly have 18-20 inches of hair that actually grows from their scalp *sarcasm* but right about now i have extensions simply because its about 100 degrees outside right now and i refuse to sweat out my own natural hair every other day! seriously, I think if a weave is worn in a flattering way, no man is really gonna care if it's yours or not... What I can't tolerate is the "quick weave" that looks like a damn mullet UGH just saw one of those in downtown Dallas today and almost died!

Lol, I am the total opposite. I can't have pounds of extra hair on top of my own head in the summer. Makes me want to cut that hair off plus my own hair. That is why I wear weave only when it gets cold (as a protective style). I wonder how do you deal with all that hair in the hot ass heat? What's the secret?

I'm with you DJ, as long as it look nice, doesn't even have to look natural sometimes, just look nice and I'll let you slide. I STRONGLY DISLIKE multi-colors of hair on grown women (Shout out to Atlanta), Lol

Weave or no weave don't tugg my hair while we are getting it on.

but isnt that the point on some level?? just like with men who color their hair or wear a tupe. i think it stems more from what u wanna do and what u feel comfortable with. i have female cousin's who have plenty of hair but will still wear weave because they just like to swtich it up. its never been about trying to fool someone for them. at the same time, u want people to be conviced that its urs. that means the weave is surving its purpose i would think.....

oh yea were the worst here...i told my sisters yall bet not never get that s*** done!!  who would want something called a "quick weave" it just sounds wrong. u aint gone do s*** quick in my head. lol

I agree. At least that's what my personal goal is. I spend a bout 4 solid days on my hair braiding preping, sewing, cutting and styling my weave every time I do an install.  The end result is convincing enough to fool my mother, sister and my closest friends.
