And I just wanna add this before starting my movie (NEtflix Monday bishes!) to all my B.A.P.S-- You know damn well these Latino, Italians (as if they look any different from white) and Cuban bishes be swagger jackin us left and right. I see dem bishes in the da club tryna do it like US and fail miserably. Sizing me up and down when I aint lookin --mad cause the confidence of a Black Woman cuts like a m*********** dagger.

Why you mad bishes? Cause I aint kissin yo ass just cause you wanna spark a convo? As if I'm supposed to give a damn you like my shoes and compliment you back? What you seeking my approval for? Tryna get close cause yo boyfriend keep lookin at my ass? Chile, please..

I can't phucks with BET cause we don't even own the ish no more. TVONE.. maybe, but they target an older demographic plus.. Miss Universe has been around since 1952 which brings me to the gist of my argument. We talking bout companies, products and services that have been around as long as they freed black folks from bondage. And without going into what we already know about the historical ramifications of slavery and its effect on black people socially, economically, etc... we never had the opportunity to start any of these companies, products and services early enough for them to grow and prosper.

Case in point, NBC started in the 1920s. It is the largest broadcasting corporation in the world. But it took centuries to mature. Centuries. Black folks owning companies that huge... s***, unfortunately not gonna happen in our generation. By the 1940s, white folks started paying attention to what we did have (the hair industry for example) and waved some dollars in our face and we caved.

No, not even African Pride hairline is owned by us anymore! They bought that too! WTF is wrong wit y'all? And don't blame Bob Johnson for selling BET.. his ex-wife is responsible for that mess. Now she wanna complain about the content. Hoe, sit down.

Although we do (or did) have Ebony Fashion Fair, and I believe there is a Miss Black USA. But it could work...

As a fellow African, I'm just happy she won. 

 

As for black beauty pageants: there is Miss Black USA and not so known pageants that are within cities. They just don't advertise them (smh).

I really, really, really appreciate black beauty like you would not believe.

@Tone what are African features, please tell me because Africa had and still does have hundreds of tribes. Amongst these tribes which historians had noted and documents by slave traders there were many differences in these tribes such as customs, physicality and languages, patois is derived from all the African tribes that were mixed together in Jamaica. In some tribes like the pygamy people they were tiny and have small features, small noses, European features as you put it. They are still around today, It has also been documented that the Fulani tribe which could be found in Nigeria had a fairer complexion than the other African tribes and that their features were similar to Europeans. Europeans have broad noses, does that mean they have African ancestry..... no, why do you think we have plastic surgeons. Europeans have put pressure on their own damn selves to comply with an idealised look that they themselves can't even fulfil. I am not saying this woman does not have any European ancestry because she is very likely to, especially since Portugal were all over Africa and then sent Africans to Brazil. Mexicans, Puerto Ricans almost every Latino country have European ancestry but when people say they are very attractive you hardly ever hear someone say it's because they have European features.

@ Tone, yu will be amazed at the different colors and features of Africans.  not all Africans are what you see on TV, short hair and really dark.  Their are light ones with long wavy hair brown ones, even white ones.   yes, white ones
