Just a brief history lesson...College/universities were created so that individuals could become "scholars"...not to get a job. It was created for those who didn't want to be blacksmiths or farmers (nowadays called blue collar jobs). It allowed individuals to gain knowledge about many things. Back then, individuals had to learn about law, medicine, physics, math, arts, astronomy, humanities, etc. Some of these these courses are now referred to as "general education" courses. By going to college, you are gaining knowledge in many areas. Yes, you will specialize in your major but you are becoming a scholar. I have a Master's degree and people assume I know a whole bunch of s*** cause I went to college. Their assumption is correct and it should be. So stop looking at it as a negative. You are becoming a SCHOLAR. With your degree, it will allow you to be a well rounded thinking individual.

Going to college is a privilege. Only 30% of Americans have a college degree. Remember, its only 4 years of your life out of the potential 75 plus years you may be on this planet. Do it and finish it. Once you finish, having your degree will open many doors for you.

Btw, if you dont finish college, its cool. Someone has to serve me at mcdonalds. So stop getting C's. You are better than that. C means average and I know that you are not an average thinking person. Expect more out of yourself:)

Having your masters degree and being able to work in a field you enjoy is the best feeling in the world. I did what you want to do already. It's not all it's cracked up to be trust me. I dropped out of college the second semester of my freshman year. I got a good job and a home and realized I hated my job. Then life happened and I had my daughter and realized my money wasn't as long as I thought it was. I did go back to school and today is a great example of what I have to do just to scrape by. I have homework, my daughter's homework, new student loans on top of other bills, and everyday life. My daughter's 3 she needs attention, to play and everything else in the world it seems like when youre trying to remember all the muscles, bones, tendons, origins and insertions of the arm. 4 years is nothing especially if you have to look back on it.

Thx for the advice...I will go on there and look! I had a bad professor last year and I wish I had looked before-hand! lol

Don't give up ..nobody can take your degree away from you it's really priceless. Go for your goal! Also professors make all of the difference..I don't know if your school has it but ratemyprofessors.com is useful..or ask around if you hear a professor is just a jerk take another professor!

wow...that is inspirational..and it reminds me of my mama trying to go back to school online too..so i guess that i should keep that in mind when i feel defeated!

How is this for motivation .... a friend of mine never got to go to college after highschool because she had a child and not enough money .... 20 years later at the age of 37 she is moving into a college dorm and going after her degree ! I think she is completely mad being that her son will be joining her in about a year but on the other hand , if you want some thing you have to make sacrifices ! I'm sure it is probably hard on her being the oldest person in a dorm full of kids but she is doing it because she is following her dreams ! Keep going and don't give up , it will be well worth it in the end !!!

Ha ha ha!! True! I dont EVER wanna work with food again so that is inspiration!! And you're right I'm not average so I should do better..lol thanks girl!

Wow, I know it must be alot to deal with..gives me something to think about foreal. And you're right, it'll be rewarding once I do get my degree and I get to do something I love.

You want to drop out of college?!?! Girl don't do it!!! Workin a 9-5 SUX, especially if you workin in a field that doesn't require a degree. Ride out this depression in school, not out here makin b******* $$ cuz your tired of going to a few hours of class a day. Stay in school and get that masters. Stay at it and you will set up nicely before 30.

well not necessarily drop out..but i'm sooo tired of it..lol but after reading y'alls comments..it wakes me up alot. I wont give up!! lol
