My thoughts are along this line. He let society's perception of him become his reality. F*** that!!!! I stay away from people like this. I'm here to have a great life and enjoy all it's benefits. If asking for directions, clarification and showing initiative are considered acting white then so be it. Opportunity, success and privilege are not reserved for any one race, it's available to all who choose to 'live outside the box'.

You're all PAYING for an education a privilege some people never get a chance to experience. Instead of having his focus on his education he's focusing of being a 'crab in a barrel' first class idiot.

CCDreamin' of a baller for me said:

I can't believe how eloquently Tone put that. I was so in shock I didn't have shyt to add. Basically what he means is that some people believe the garbage hyped on tv and the reality shows about black people. When they see a black person who is not living and breathing those stereotypes it threatens them and their beliefs. The fact that another black person said this to you shows that he not only comes from a low class background, he has let it color his thinking and beliefs until he doesn't even believe he can do much better. How dare you aspire to be more than he thinks he can be.

A lot of people are really messed up in the head when it comes to their self worth. Him being a black man and evidently not feeling to good about himself, when he sees a young beautiful black woman whose values herself and her life more than he does his own probably p***** him off.

A lot of time people feel like when a person is black they cannot speak proper or be educated.  I have experienced this most of my like being a light skin woman.  I was never "black enough" or people always felt like I was white because I value my education and I speak proper! 

Girl, ask them questions, get that damn A in that class, and tell ALL of em to kiss your ass if they have a problem with it!

Thanks y'all, but I have to inform you that I turned into a true Philly girl and called him everything but a child of God smh... The day started off good until he got smart again and ended up calling me a curly headed nigga now wtf is that? I'm mad that he took me out my character and I'm even more mad that I had to cuss him out, because I just wasted my time and breathe talking to a idiot and now I'm back in the admin office

I can't believe I really just got into a heated exchange with a 35 year old BLACK man... I've been called light bright, whitey, etc by white people since I was young but never by a black person this s*** is mind boggling and I'm not use to this s*** at all.. Sorry I had to vent

OMG!! His ass needs to be expelled!! You go there to get an education and you have to worry about your safety because a crazy black man feels that's it's ok verbally abuse a young black woman trying to get ahead. What a shame!!

AWWW he so ignorant he does not know what to do with himself. Are you sure he's not Kirk Delaney or whoever this new person is? He's probably mad because he's thirty something and trying to get his life together and you're in your early twenties and you've got it all the way together.

If it wasn't the professor who said that then there is no use in going to Administration because they don't care about Black on Black harassment. Watch and see, they won't step in on your behalf. Hate to say it but the 35 year old brotha's statement to you will be proven correct. To them you are just another nigga in the grand scheme of things.
