I'd have to say Intentions. You can't fault an individual for wanting to be with someone successful or finically sound but when it's done with ill intentions and only for personal gain you're labeled a groupie.

  A groupie to me would be a woman that will f*** a dude just because he is in the nba or nfl or has a record deal or some kinda fame.

i def like the way you worded that. nowadays every chick thats seen out with a celebrity is labeled a groupie. what do you think of amber rose though? groupie or misunderstood ex-stripper?

I'm not sure of all of the details so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but Kanye actually sought Amber out which eventually lead to them becoming an item for over 2 years. The fame and notoriety that she gained from dating someone of his stature attracted the attention of other famous would be suitors, hence her relationship with Wiz. This notoriety can be related to strippers as well since, their job enables them to meet a variety of wealth, rich, successful men. In neither case would I say they are groupies for taking advantage of the opportunities that are presented to them, especially in the cases where the guys are the aggressor/pursuers.

I disagree because a groupie isn't defined by her intentions. I believe that atleast 9 out of every 10 women intend to be with a successful man because what partially sane woman goes "I want to end up with a bum" lol a groupie is defined by how she presents and carries herself. A groupie smothers ballers; she hounds them with relentless attention, watches them from the corner of her eye, and still stands around sipping her well vodka and cranberry when it's obvious she's been dismissed because the baller is chatting up some new girl but is holding out hope that she'll cockblock him by lingering or get to go home with him incase the new girl turns him down. A groupie is a girl who is so thirsty it seems like she's on an endless quest for rehydration, she texts, she calls, she facebook messages, she's liking s*** all over his Instagram and she's hitting him up on InstaDM every other day. She's relentless, she's annoying, she's desperate, and most of all, she's blatantly obvious. A groupie can be spotted a mile away. A few months ago I was out at this club with a few of my girls and this NBA player, I'll call him "Mike", I know walks in, spots me, and makes his way towards me. I've known this guy for over a year and we're cool, he trusts me and respects me so he kicks it with me because he has a low tolerance for b******* and hates messy hoes, lol so he gives me a hug and I noticed he had 2 of the new rookies with him in tow. Now, one of these rookies is fineeeeeeeee but I played it cool, introduced myself, and continued my conversation with Mike. Of course I wanted to jump on the hot rookie and practically ride him in the middle of the club (LMAO) but I sure as hell didn't show it because I barely paid him any attention. Soon after they came in, I was trying to take a picture of my girl, and the hot rookie came up next to me and starting pressing shit on my iPhone and struck up a conversation with me after I told him I was gonna beat his ass for touching my s***, lol. Now, while hot rookie and I were talking, this desperate ass bird looking b**** with a crunchy weave slinks up to us and immediately pounces on him. After that, she was ALWAYS within less than 2 feet of him. It got to the point where he'd turn his back or walk away to try to escape her, and she'd stand their awkwardly or follow him around like she was being paid to be his goddamn shadow. He kept trying to get away from her and make his way towards me, but then she'd walk right in front of his path and he'd bug his eyes out at me, I hope to God she was drunk because he kept saying "okay okay I hear you! Bye!" but she still wouldn't take the damn hint. This girl was a groupie to the core, no matter how mean he was to her or how much he'd ignore her she was relentless and I'm not exagerrating when I say that more than half of VIP was laughing hysterically at her and in her face.
