Law School, should be your first stop. You want your concentration or focus to be on sports and entertainment law. You will spend a lot of time on contact law. At that point you can use your college players and old friends as jump off clients. If you don't feel like going to law school you can still be an agent, but be prepared to make less money and you better have a serious mouthpiece and know a ton of celebrities who will be willing to give you contact info of other up and comming artists and a chance. You need to be very serious, do your homework on contract law and you may have to hire and attorney to do your contracts for you. I suggest law school because credentials are everything and the second route is a long shot. Good luck.

You must get out there and network, network, network like crazy. Go to industry events and conferences and meet people. Law school is a great option. It will be difficult, but not impossible. Besides, you will get more respect that way. Both industries are sexist, so the wise thing is to rely on your talents and abilities instead of your body. Trust, both industries are small and everyone knows everyone. They will talk about you, but you want it to be in a good way. PM me if you need some advice. Good luck ;)
