In accordance with Collete's thread, here are a few names of extremely wealthy African American business men. If they are too old for you, seek out their sons. Lol. Have fun!

Was getting ready to buy ticket for the speed dating and mixer. Noticed that the men's is less than the women's. This is a sign might be too many b****** here for my taste LOL!

I love the Fontainebleau....I was watching the news a few weeks ago and when the stripper got into a fight with Teyanna Taylor that night a lady got raped there by a guest from Mexico. She had left her door ajar and he came in. I just want to warn you ladies be careful I know I am guilty of leaving it slightly open if I am running in to get something really quick or if I am going down the hall or even expecting someone.

I saw the speed dating event! I just didn't want to seem desperate; especially since I am not ivy educated. As far as Ivy Weekend, I don't plan to actually go to the events. Trust me, they will spend more time outside those events than inside. Thus, you have to *happen to be in the neighborhood of* what's going on (i.e. book a hotel room at their hotel, go to the closest beach, lay out by the pool...etc.) That's my plan and I'm down if you all are done. They are staying at the Fountainebleau.

Contact the person the event and ask some questions.  I would hate for you to go and there be no men : (

Bump.... I came across the ivy league site while looking at stuff. Any ppl up?

I would consider going since this is my "target group".

Oooh I love the idea! Is it too late to join on this bandwagon? I didn't go to an ivy league school but my occupation puts me up there with some of the big boys LOL

Let me do some research. I want to look at their past events to make sure a good amount of men were in attendance. If so, you can count me in.

I went to the speed dating event in DC and there were more women than men. The guy that I was feeling at first was really stuck up and concieted. The guy that liked me was too nerdy. I had to basically drag him out of his shell and make him have a drink. I finally got him laughing.  I would go again just for the networking.

In my experience, men that have attended Ivy League schools are FAR MORE conceited than any sports players, actor or hustler you've come across. They tend to be narcissistic, patronizing and down right mean spirited. After all, these are the nerds of yesteryear (or the failed athletes of yesteryear). Many feel like they deserve the same notoriety as athletes, rappers and actors. You have to know how to deal with them. Disinterest is key. Let them know their lifestyle, accomplishment and/or degrees do not impress you. Been there, done that. Honestly, it would be easier for us to chase athletes than to chase Ivy League toting men of color.

Now that that being egotistical topic was brought up what, I agree... The guy that I made a post about being called an industry chick graduated from Tuskegee, and he used to talk mad s***... Eh, on to the next plan.... Lol

Tuskegee is not Ivy League! Anywhooo the problem as I see it is two fold. First, this is a black Ivy League function...you are dealing with people that already have a superiority complex for the most part. If you don't have a solid education or come from a recognized family or just something other than a groupie badge I wouldn't advise you to target this group..

I just don't understand why you girls want to work so hard....athletes, celebrities, young black ivies, NO NO NO that's too much work for me...not to mention too much competition!  Old + Rich = Jackpot!!!! The older the man the more insecurities he will have and the more he will be appreciative of your time with him. Money and accomplishments mean less to this group than your ability to connect with them authentically and make them feel alive again.
