I look @ pics 4/5 years old and see my hair was longer than it is now and be like WTF is going on with my hair. Got a trim the other day, looking in the mirror and realize my hair has been the same length for about 4 years. Before I get a trim its usually a little pass shoulder length, after - almost always shoulder length. I dont use a lot of heat, although I do get blowouts maybe once every 3/4 weeks, and have averaged 3 relaxers a year so not many chemicals. I never go to sleep without wrapping my hair in wrap cap and silk scarf. I dont know yall...I do trims about every 3 months, so maybe thats what im doing wrong, but even then I dont have major splint ends. Ive went 6 months without a trim b 4 and even then my ends werent bad (said by my stylist). I thought the purpose of trims was to cut off split ends, so I dont see in cutting evry six weeks for nothing. Maybe its the blowouts, because I do notice some short hairs - Do anyone who get blowouts experience hair breakage or hair that doesnt seem to grow? What products do you use to assist in growing healthy hair?

Go natural
Lay off the blow outs for awhile and see if that makes a difference.
diet? i say track it up and leave your hair alone and take care of the hair underneath...
well there's no one size fits all for everyone, but definitely check out your diet.  B-complex vitamins and iron are usually good places to start, as well as eating more vegetables.  It wouldn't hurt to get a general blood test from your doctor to pinpoint any deficiencies before you start a vitamin regimen.  As for products, I've gotten great results by using jojoba oil and regularly hot oiling and deep conditioning my hair (sitting under the dryer every week with a treatment in for at least 20 minutes).  When you get blow outs, is your stylist using heat protection spray?  Also, it may sound crazy, but I bought one of those "magic gro" scarves that have the growth treatment built in and it really did work for me.  At the time I had just cut my hair really short and the back was totally shaven, within 3 weeks I had significant growth.

Shoulder length is hard for a lot of people to get past because that's the length that the fragile tips of your hair brush against the fabric of your clothes all day, and it makes it break. Do you notice little hairs on the back of your shirts when you take them off? Maybe you can wear ponytails or buns or sew-ins for a few months, until your hair gets past shoulder length. Also, when you get blow outs, have them roller set then only blow out your roots, not the ends.

Mine grew after I went natural, I wore sew-ins for about a year straight, it grew to my shoulder blades, then I went back to the creamy crack & it hasn't gotten past that length.
you need a hair regimen. How often do you wash you hair? Water is your friend lol. Moisturizing, sealing in the moisture, protein treatments if needed, vitamins, etc. all are very good. Msm and megatek helps your hair grow to

when your hair stays at a certain length for years like that, something is def. up. Either you are not doing something(s) or doing something that is the culprit for lack of growth. Scalp massages also stimulate hair growth

Thanks for all the advice ladies. I thought about going natural (briefly) but honestly I dont think I have enough heart. I did get it cut to chin length (had to) maybe 2.5 years ago, and it grew back to my shoulder within about 6-8 months, but thats where it stopped. Never really thought about my diet, other than prenatals, or the fact that it rubs against my clothes all day. I think Im going to go with a sew-in or get it braided constantly for the next six months to see if it grows.

From what you are saying you're having a hard time retaining length, which can make it seem like your hair is staying at the same length and not growing. Take Biotin and hair vitamins. If you're going to continue relaxing and doing blowouts to your hair, make sure you keep moisture in your hair, especially at your ends since it is the oldest. You can use Shea butter, Aragan oil (some people call it Moroccan oil, but that's the brand name not the actual name of the oil) and jojoba oil, just to name a few. Also, try doing a deep conditioning every week and try Aphogee products to keep your hair strong and prevent anymore damage from relaxing and blowouts http://www.aphogee.com/

When I was pregnant I took my prenatal vitamins & my hair grew past my shoulders. (it was originally chin length) & I also used Dr. Miracle's temple & nape balm. My hair grew on out. You may want to consider incorporating a little salmon in your diet.
yes, staying weaved up and braided up should def. retain you growth big time. I am a witness of that
