Go to Houston for the Ballers. The athletes, rappers and good ol' fashioned rich people are just out and about. Dallas is so big that theres not a real centralized place that you can find Ballers, although whenever they come to Texas, they stop in Dallas. I just like Dallas more, i can't name why. I prefer that city. Both cities are great for entertainment and yes, some Dallas women can be a bit stand-offish.

Houston and Dallas are very different. Hard to explain, but they are. I prefer Dallas over Houston but Houston is cool too. The Westheimer area is the uppity/rich area. You can also stay in The Woodlands which is a suburb of Houston. Houston is very flashy...beamer, benz & bentleys everywhere lmao..Houston has a lot of ballers that may not be known most "outsiders"..they make money there for sure lol

If you are interested in the entertainment industry, then Houston is the city out of the 2.  While Cypress, Spring, Katy, Missouri City & Woodlands are nice they are quite a drive from the uptown area of Houston.  You definitely can find apts close to the galleria/downtown/medical center (loop & outside the loop) for less than $1200 in houston.  The nightlife in Houston is a lot more urban than the nitelife in Dallas.  So if ballplayers and rappers are your thing, then definitely Houston.

good thread...a friend of mine lives in houston and he says i'd love it there but i'm set in my job and the education system is really good where i'm at so i'm considering making houston my "home away from home".  GOOD LUCK!  i'm so interested in seeing how things work out for ya.

Thanks! Ive been on indmix heavy to find out what goes on, ive been trying to figure out which parties are "upscale" im really liking the bellaire area because itll be close to where ill be working.

Also, my mom lives in a nice apartment home in Bellaire. Bellaire is a good location because it's almost smack dab in the middle of Houston. That makes moving around Houston a lot easier.

Everybody works in Houston, but nobody lives in Houston... Don't know if you have kids, but HISD sucks greasy balls... 
Also before you pay 1200 for an apt, consider a nice home... A few of my friends/family live in what I call mini mansions for less than that...

There used to be this club called Cornbread, It was super small and definitely a whole in the wall but it was off the chain! There are still some like it, but they are usually after hours spots because that's where you go AFTER you leave the club cause they stay open till 4 am. But yeah, check out the radio cause they always advertise stuff that's happening. I have a mini subscription to O-Zone mag where Julia sends out invitations to parties and other stuff, where who is going to be and when, etc. But I am unable to find the original site for some reason, maybe she shut it down and just sends the emails to whoever was on her original mailing list but I really can't say. But her emails contain all the in-the-know information in regards to Houston and the happenings.

Whats hisd? No i dont have any kids. Are uou friends renting homes or did they purchase? Im not sure how long ill be living in houston. I want to eventually relocate to the east coast but im desparate to move out of florida now.

Well, 290 is basically circleing (having writer's block today sorry for the spelling!) Houston and it doesn't have toll roads but it takes you longer to get to where you are going. 45 runs right through Houston and the same issues specifically at 7-9 am and 4-6 pm. Gridlock baby! There is the beltway which is the toll road and you will get everywhere you need to go quickly if you pay the tolls. The HOV lanes require a car full of people so if you carpool that is a good thing to use. But just the other day some guy got caught driving down the HOV with a dummy in his car, yeah, he got caught and he made the paper, LOL!
