HOW DO YOU RESEARCH YOUR DATES?

This is what I used to do - Make sure you know where he lives before you invite him to you house. Text a picture of him, his address and phone number to a close friend just in case and let that friend know when you will be hanging out with him. And have a designated time to check in with that friend. I know it sounds like a lot but better safe than sorry. Folks are crazy!

I google. And I RARELY let a new person come to wear I stay. I will facebook, myspace and try to find any mutual friend. I also give my homegirl all the information where I will be and his license plate number and what I had on. I am just really paranoid cause some people are just natural crazy and I am not trying to be apart of any serial killers spree

google, myspace, and I ALWAYS check ID for personal information like address, full name, etc, which i google later. I knew a girl who dated a guy for a year only to find out after she had his baby and he disappeared that she didn't know anything about him, including his real name...

I also let my best friend know his info just in case.

Google, ask around town, intellius.com, casesearch.com, have my home girl run a background check, and I trust my instincts

My general rule is 6 months b4 he comes anywhere near my house, because lil man lives there and I am protective.
I do a public record search based on bday and address and phone number. I call my cop buddies whom I won't name because they pull info they really shouldn't for me, but they do it anyway :)
i cannot take chances with my son, i just can't.
You can't cover all teh bases but you can weed out some potentially bad seeds based on past behavior :)
The first time a guy comes to my house if he passes all the other stuff, I have a bunch of friends over, like a mini house party just to make it more comfy. Besides my girl's bring their fellas and they tend to put my potential dudes through the ringer with questions :)

Well, I'm nosey so once I have the first and last name I google, myspace, facebook and zabbasearch (although they have some feature you can sign up for to alert you when someone looks you up). I also go to these two links for Md and VA court cases (I haven't figured out DC)

http://wasdmz2.courts.state.va.us/CJISWeb/circuit.html

I also look up to see if the person owns property (and who they own it with), this is public information. You can look it up in the Washington Post online, under Metro section and then real estate. You can either put in the persons address (it should give you sale history, how much they paid and when) or with advanced search you can put in their name and if they own property the address should pop up. You should also be able to do this on the states website, but I can't remember how off the top of my head.....

ive never researched a date before but this is post is giving me some real insight...
i usually just trust my insitcts and if im going out with a new guy its always somewhere public and i make sure i let a friend know who im with just in case....

wow, you should be a private investigator lol. I would never have thought about looking that stuff up, but good idea!

@cupcakediva....my friend calls me the CIA!! You would be surprised at the info you can find.....upcoming court dates, bankruptcy info, if they have had any judgements which as you know affects their credit.

I live in a big city but it seems like everyone knows everyone here so someone sisters, cousin, mamas knows the guy or messed w him so I just ask around .. Or if the guy isn't from out here I use the old google trick but that's to see if he's married or what not

I have a friend who is a cop - she has access to city, state and federal records - she hasn't failed me yet!
