I was reading an article on Madam Noireand it talked about how people are swapping passwords to prove they are trustworthy:

“It’s a sign of trust,” Tiffany Carandang, a high school senior in San Francisco, told the New York Times of why she and her boyfriend decided to share passwords for e-mail and Facebook. “I have nothing to hide from him, and he has nothing to hide from me. I know he’d never do anything to hurt my reputation.”

Tiffany’s not alone in her thinking. A 2011 telephone survey by the Pew Internet and American Life Project found that 30% of teenagers who were regularly online had shared a password with a friend, boyfriend, or girlfriend. Of the 770 teenagers aged 12 to 17, girls were almost twice as likely as boys to share their information (figures).

Would you give your boo boo the passwords to your phone, and social accounts?

i would now...but there was a time that was out of the question.

Nope. Why? Because a true player with have as many social network accounts as he/she needs. They will give you the one where only the family and friends you know are on there. Then they have another account that you know nothing about.

I trust my instincts. If my instincts tell me that a man I am dealing with is untrustworthy, I pull back and wait.  Sooner or later his skeletons will come falling out the closet. All that trading of passwords nonsense is just to pacify those that are naive and uninitiated to the game.

Co-sign! My guy offered me his Facebook password and I declined. If he's doing something wrong, it will be revealed in due time.

what's done in the dark will come to the light anyway so what's the point?

i can understand highschool kids doing this, hell, even college students.  married folk or serious relationship folks? idk, i'm on the fence. what happened to havin' just plain ole trust?!?????  like CC said, trust your instincts, God gave us brains and feelings for a reason. and besides, once your married what's the deal with all this extra tweetin', facebookin' and voxer crap?! ok, cool, keep up with the times, your friends and family but it amazes me how many married people are updatin' status and tweetin' at 2 a.m....i'm sorry if i'm boo'd up, at 2 a.m. i wanna be up under my man slobberin' on his arm!

Girl. *waves hand in the air* You noticed that too? There's a woman on my timeline be cussing her husband out for snoring on FB. I'm like, take a pill and go to sleep or wake his azz up for sex so you can fall asleep. lol She's not the only one but she slays me.

If I ever decide to get married please know all that social media stuff will stop. It is breaking up more relationships and now it is even killing people. Did you read about the man that shot 4 teens because they came to his house to fight his stepsons over a FB argument? Yeah, shut that ish down when you are GROWN and in a relationship. JMHO

All of my close family and relatives including my current and ex-boyfriend have an idea of what or how access to all myfinancial/insurance accounts or they know the password. This is because i have seen how when people die and the family needs to access important information they are unable to gain information from banks, your employer, etc. And usually, if you leave behind money, no one can access it but you and if unclaimed your money goes to the bank or the state. There is always a big fight that goes down after the fact. I don't want it to be that hard to find my money and every account you access has a notification method so if you are accessing my stuff while i am still around, trust, I would know!

Its also a good way to gauge who someone is if something happens like being set up or if you disappeared. I don't want to be a statistic and I truly have nothing to hide when it comes to my family or who i allow to become family.

Now facebook, social media, Hell Naw you are not getting those passwords, LOL! I better not give him the password to my BA account! That would be darn right foolish!

Key word in the article is "teenagers". As grown ass adults, either u trust or u dont.

lmaooo girl bye...i mean i think that's a bit much...i wont do it unless its for my bank account to log on to see how much i have but that's only if im married. yea i agree with skytz i wouldnt do that
