I feel like the token hip black lady in my office!
This weekend I went to Eastern Market (an outdoor flea market in DC) and I got sunburn on the back of my neck and nose. It hurts like hell. I get it often, so I brought some aloe and have it sitting on my desk. So one of my white coworkers walks by and asks why I have it. I told her because I got sunburn. This heifer says o damn I didn’t know black ppl could get sunburn. I said yes, I have skin just like yours. She turned pink and walked away. I often have to educate the ppl in my office of our hair textures about weaves, about films, and I am getting sick of it, Like why are they so insensitive sometimes. I know she is not racist, but she often shows how they serotypes other races, instead of just goggling it, LOL. I feel bad because now every time I walk by her desk she apologizes. But the s*** is getting old. And once I hip her to something she takes it and runs with it. But in the process f**** it all up. I told her the other day to say YOLO. Now she won’t stop ugh! Sorry just needed to vent!

There are black people who do not understand why I get peeved about this. I think it is very personal. I only like my man and my hair stylist in my hair. Period. If I ain't fugging you or paying you for hair care services, keep your nasty azz fingers out of my hair!

I give my bosses notice before i go to the hair dresser because they will walk right past me three times before they realize that it is me. Then my coworker the one who I had an education seminar about weaves will chime in not she just got some hair sewn in over some cornrows.

And when they do touch my hair (which is when I come close to slapping them) they end up not touching it, but PETTING it. I'm not a damn dog b**** GET YOUR LIFE.

I work in the hospitality industry and they go crazy when I say I am going somewhere (where I don't have to use or discount) like it is exclusively for them to know about it!!!!! Or like I cannot afford to go. I took my daughter to SeaWorld last year. They were all hating saying o she is two she isn't going to remember, but they take their kids to international place on long ass flights annoying everyone. When my daughter came into the office she was like shamu is my buddy and I am going to see him again. Then she counted to 7 in Spanish and was telling them all her colors. They were in amazement. One of my coworkers was like how did you get her so smart. I said ummm read to her! Then the other one had the gall to ask me how come her skin is so much darker than yours is her dad that dark? I said no him and I are the same complexion. She said o. I said let me stop you now. Like WTF!!!! I am not about to go into the genetics of how some black ppl are light skinned and some are not in front of my damn child. Sorry I have been having a mini rants all day

Or when I suggest a place to go food, musuems. hotels, etc they get all shocked that my black ass has been to places they have... S*** p***** me OFF!

Hey Sir! I was out in the sun walking around not laying out in the sun lol! But I should know better cuz I get sunburn at least once a year. It still hurts when I rub the back of my neck and my damn nose is peeling. UGH! I want to pour the whole bottle of aloe on my neck, but it smells funny!.

like laying out in the sun tanning. Like my gf when on the beach will go topless n freakin tan lol. At first it weirded me out like wtf ya tits doing out woman lol. But then shes sorta light so she does get a funny ass tan lol

Oh okay... I usually lighten up in the winter, so first good hot day, I lay out a little while... It's fun. And even funnier when coworkers are in awe of my tan lines...
