I Need A Soldier/Hood Boy

okay, so this maybe a bit long...but please read on...need to get it out...those of you in the chatbox already know this story, but read on anyway...

I have recently acquired a new BF...he is 5 years younger than me...I met him at the bar and his convo really got me interested in him...he was very intellegent...this guy is amazing...his spirit is sooo powerful and beautiful...he's considerate...he's affecionate (but not overly so)...he's easy to talk to, or be silent around...he treats me with the utmost respect...he treats my friends like there his...there is never a time I want to see him and he says no...he's a great father...he's very spiritual...his spririt is so strong - he's muslim (most of you know how I feel about muslim/christian relationships) but when he makes Salat (prayer) he says that he feels the presence of Allah (God) so strong that he is moved to tears...he teaches me things almost daily...he is a real man's man...

The sex is okay...but he's freaky as hell, so I'm cool...

...but (oh the but's):
1) He's GHETTO
2) He has tattoo's EVERYWHERE (face, hands, neck - no 9-5 for him EVER)
3) Can't take him too many places because of how thugged out he looks
4) He has that young, reckless, I will live forever attitude

Thoughts?

Chrlieeee... what happened to the older dude you were dealing with?? (you know I love the seniors lol) How do you feel about muslim/christian relationships ? IDK theres a lot of pros and cons to weigh out maybe you guys should just be friends, he sounds like male bff material but I guess its hard to take it back there once you already sexed. But ghetto is never a good look, and although there are many good things about him the bad things can bring you and him down.

Also 1.) In the muslim faith tattoos are considered desecration, you arent supposed to have them, did he have them before he converted? Because if not this is a direct contradiction to his "religion" . So you never know what other contradictions he may have as well.

Girl sounds like you're cautiously captivated by him... enjoy yourself and try not to project into this friendship just yet...although he said he loves you, it doesn't mean you have to love him back. Reason I say that is because his lifestyle is evidently a cause of gripe with you. The tats and hoodness, his religion are a concern to you... but him being a muslim shouldn't be so much of a concern(just my thoughts). They lie and cheat just like any other men, and like someone else said, many (not all) Muslim men tend to strive a whole lot harder then the average to take care of home/you so that would be beneficial in the long run.

I say enjoy the moment and let the chips fall where ever they decide...

Ms. Charlie, I don't think this is a good luck for you Doll:-) The tattoo on the face is a no no!!! I don't know what field of work your in, but you could never bring him to corporate functions. Are you dating to have fun?? Or looking for Mr. Right?? This guy have to many red flags!!!

I know several Muslim men with tats (not all over their bodies, all are discrete but they have them nonetheless). These men are "deeply" practicing their religion, one particular person had tats prior to converting and post conversion; another comes from a family of Muslims... I wouldn't view it as a serious contradiction to their faiths because thay treat people better than many Christians I know. IMHO, the treatment of others is a greater reflection of a person's spirituality because it comes from within...

Thanks for the advice, all...just to let you know I'm sticking with him (as you can see from my name "Daddy's Girl" - daddy being my name for him)...his tattoo's are not a concerm for me has far as his religion - I'm christian and I have them...also, I'm a bartender - we don't have functions...I'm not placing all my chips on him...I still have other things going on...but at this point he teaches me and treats me well, so I will learn the lessons he his here to teach me and move on from there...
