S***..I want one too! Funny you say what you say about the men in SC..I am from up north and we practically would kill for a Southern man..the men up here are either locked up, have an extensive list of 'baby mamas', or are married and still aint worth a damn because they cheat on their wives. I am in the business of law enforcement where like yours, the pool is that much smaller..

See I feel like Northern men have a type of attitude that is NOT found down south. They seem so confident and about they business. At least the ones I have met briefly but I don't know. I just find the men here are not what's up because they trying to be like everyone else. You wouldn't believe how much everyone dresses and acts alike around here.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I constantly try and improve on myself. Try and be bad-er than the year before. So I do my best.

@ JB...or the other way around..Maybe I OR scmami is too above average for the men that have crossed our paths..men can be intimidated by that as well..I'd like to think a med school student is a def upgrade IMO..

wow..........its not a good luck to claim that ur so much better then the oppisite sex in ur area s*** sounds mad conceited(not sayin u r but thats how it came off) secondly i hope women understand that for the most part the job u have or potentially could have does not affect ur desirability to us. doctor,teacher,paralegal, attorney, nurse it doesnt really matter.

You are right... alot of people (men and women) do not understand this. In most cases its about the content of one's character.

I'm confused, what came across as conceited? (sry if this posts 100 times, I'm on my iPhone and Internet is slow)

scmami, what exactly are u referring to when u say "with status"?

OG and JB, when u say upgrade yourself, and u don't mean jobwise, what do u mean? looks and personality?

well where are the upscale spots in your area? go there regularly on off days for a drink or brunch, chat with the staff and security and that way they will keep you in mind when high profile events/people are coming through and that may gain you entry. there was a great post on here about seeking volunteer or part time positions at places where upwardly mobile young men would spend their time, such as certain supermarkets, car dealerships, or social organizations. it's really about networking with people who are in contact with the type of men you would like to know.
