If The Shoe Was On The Other Foot
So a few days ago my boyfriend's sisters and mum were asking me why do I come on sites like this. They were like how would you feel if you were dressed a certain way and people you didn't know ripped you to shreds...so after a slight pause I explained to them well he plays ball overseas and no one could care less what I wear over there LOL and when his contract is up in a few years if he gets picked up for the NBA by then I will have a stylist for important events ha ha. Shoot i might just post some pics and ask you all for your opinion before I wear a certain outfit. I told them I enjoy the site its not all about tearing each other down, I actually learn things by coming on here, I enjoy reading the post, its not all about being catty, I told them you can not judge a book by its cover. I mean hey everyone has off days and there might be times my hair might look a hot mess or I am caught out in some raggedy sweats but I am human...I will take it all in stride LOL...So my question is how would you feel if it were you being talked about in the blogs?

Exactly but his people called me naive..I told them everyone is not the blogs but his mum told me I was not being realistic I am like it is what it is at times thanks for your response

Hey, as long as there still talking... but you have to have thick skin and brush off what peolpe say, but at the same time maybe take some of those comments, opinions in stride and evaluate them- does it makes sense what their saying or are they just talking? sometimes I want to know what someone else is thinking about me, what i did, what im wearing, what i said......

you're right... the sad part is we've all been criticized at some point or another in our lives... especially if we ever did anything that went against the grain, or wasn't considered "black"... so by the time you become "blogworthy" lol, its just another day...

Could you live your life like this?
All that "hey, everybody has an off day" would be out the door. Not saying that your life would be on Halle's level, but if you're the wife of an NBA player or anybody famous, or if you become famous yourself, you always have to be "on". I think I started a discussion about this a while ago.
Even if you dont have the paparazzi chasing you, people still look at you and watch you. Look at how people on this site have so much to say about how a certain NBA player's wife or girlfriend looks. A freind of mine of FaceBook put on his status that this woman asked him how come he wears a different pair of shoes everyday and he was just like wow, you never know who's watching you and notices the little things you think nobody will notice. Wanna go out with that little h*** in your sock you think nobody will notice? Sheeeeit, them blogs will have a pic of you, ZOOM IN on your feet and talk about how you have holes in your sock "isnt her baller taking care of her?" is what they'll talk about.

Thank you to everyone who responded because I know I will never be blog worthy thank GOD..but when I was in the Navy I know how it used to be if you didn't dress correctly when we pulled into certain ports people would talk about you, take your picture and send it around the ship with captions like can you believe they wore that? Or dang how old is her baby and she still saying she has baby weight LoL...you just have to learn to take the good with the bad sometimes LOL

to answer all 3 of your questions lol I don't see anything wrong coming on Baller Alert, so why should I hide it. They are at my house and I am on the computer am I suppose to hide what I am doing from them? They ask me do I come to the site which I do, its like I read necolebitchie, cnn and msnbc everyday would I hide that? Of course not lol. I like this site, like I explained to them, we discuss all types of things even what is everyone cooking for xmas dinner.

Thanks @Tee and @ Cookie Pie to see where I am coming from. I like the site and see no reason to hide fact I come on here, like I stated when I was in the Navy shoot it was important to look right when we pulled into port because if not you would be talked about later on...or if you drink too much they would pass the pics around the ship only difference bwtn famous people and everyday people is a famous person's life and every move is usually recorded for the whole world to see when they make a mistake or do something off the wall
