The ladies got it in yesterday about not wanting to date a man with baby mama drama and that doesn’t spend time with his kids or take care of them. But sometimes it ain’t always what it seems. There are some evil and vindictive women out there too who use their children as leverage. I’m talking about withholding visitation to down right bad mouthing the kids about their father when in fact the man is a stand up dude and handles his responsibility. So before you decide to close the door on a brother, you might want to do some investigating and see how good of a man he really is. Of course no one wants to enter into relationship and be forced to deal with the crazy baby mama, but sometimes it’s not a Brother’s fault
Take a look at what some of our LiveSteez members had to say and share your stories too:
As much as I do for my kids it’s still not enough for my ex. I pay for daycare monthly, as well as keep my baby laced with diapers and clothes. But the second my ex needs some extra money for something and I don’t have it, then the visitation becomes a problem. She’s taken my daughter to several birthday parties in a month or she just won’t answer the phone. She even threatened to take me to court and pay child support but backed down when her friends and family told her she would get a lot less than what I was already doing. I don’t mind doing those things because it’s my child but my ex’s games are tiresome. – Rick, 31, Studio Engineer
Receipts dawg!!! I swear by them. My baby mama got a mind full of silly games. She wasn’t letting me see my sons and we had to go to court. She told the judge I was a deadbeat and didn’t have time for my kids and wouldn’t come around. She was being slick and claiming welfare and saying I wasn’t nowhere around. The judge herself was even looking at me shady and was ready to give me the riot act and hit my pockets hard. But I popped out over $3,000 worth of receipts that basically wiped the look off her face and left my baby mama’s jaw wide open. After that, the judge ordered that I receive mandatory visitation so I’m with my kids three weekends out the month. She also got investigated by welfare and took a loss on that. So receipts speak volumes and can shut all the bullshit down. – Kenny, 28, Loan Officer
Me and my wife just didn’t work out and she penalized the kids. Me, my son and daughter were extremely close and that bitter bitch fucked that up. Lying to my kids about me and saying that I was a deadbeat father. She took my kids away on their birthdays and told them I forgot about them. Never mind the fact that I pay $1,500 a month in child support. I have a court order for visitation but she has berated me so bad to my kids that they don’t won’t to come with me. When they’re with me they constantly ask when they are going home and it hurts but I don’t want them upset with me, so I cave in. I tell them I love them and do additional things for them but that negative reinforcement they hear everyday prevails. I just hope when they get older they can see what really was going on and how I tried. – Todd, 32, Physical Therapist
My ex-wife moved from Atlanta to Seattle, Washington so that makes it hard to see my kids. She makes it seem like I don’t care for them because I don’t see them as much as I would like but the flights are expensive. When they come here, I pay for three roundtrip tickets for Christmas or Thanksgiving and for a month out the summer. I’ve also flown up there for several occasions like elementary school graduations and recitals and basketball games because I know my kids love that. But again that’s expensive because I also have to pay for hotel accommodations too. She has family here in Atlanta that she has flown down here to visit with but she sneaks in and doesn’t let me know they’re here so I can pick them up. Her response is that’s her time and if I want to see my kids then plan (pay) for it. I deal with it because they’re so far away and I know how conniving she can be and just block me from seeing my babies all together. It’s a stressful situation. – Antonio, 35, Mechanic
