I GUESS THEY HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE. A MIXED COUPLE IS A BIG THING WITH DISNEY, SO I GUESS THAT IN ITSELF IS PROGRESS.

I love the idea of a mixed couple. That way it won't look like it's only for black kids.

I think its great, but I may be a biased...one of my bff's name is Tiana (and she swears she's a princess)...and her husband looks a lot like this character, his name is almost identical, and I nicknamed him prince _____ some years ago...I think its cute, but again I'm biased...

I'm not buying the mixed melting pot bs! If that's the case why not have a white princess end up with a black guy? Disney isn't that progressive to go there so they should have just given a beautiful priveledged black princess a handsome priveledged black prince... Who cares if it would have seemed as though it was only for black ppl? Wtf, the only thing we can have in America for ourselves are colored only facilities? They are only doing this to capitalize off of the black president in office... And guess what? His wife is not some don't know what her race is, ethnic name wanna be something... Disney dropped the ball, I for one am dissappointed... They always find a way to make you think or say if it aint white it aint right... Smfh

I am not offending by the mixed race thing, but I saw the trailer, and I am offended as hell by that damn frog...he talks like one of those ignorant ass characters from the 30's when blacks were potrayed embarrassingly, well they did it again, but to make it less offensive they made it a frog- no ma'am. 3 steps forward 2 steps back.......

I think it's cute. I'll be taking my younger siblings to go see this. He seems middle eastern to be as well. I'm glad she's cute! I moreso care that Disney give this character the same shine as they do for the other Disney Princesses i.e. Jasmine, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, etc (yeah, I used to work in a kid's store, haha)

I could argue the same - I don't want to hear that mess from you of all people. Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Mulan! - they don't reflect me, they reflect you... Tiana and Jasmine, yeah maybe but, neither of them reflect me either. Just parts of me and I'm willing to accept that as a step in the right direction. So, you can get off of your soap box. Who cares if Tiana has a perm, maybe she's not even African American, maybe we'll just find out she's Panamanian with silky locks... I could care less, I believe that seeing a darker shade than the white flesh tone we would normally see is positive step. Rome wasn't built over night. And, this fight won't be fought over night. How about we get some more black cartoonist up at Disney. Hmpfh!

Matter of fact, we should just produce our own cartoons for our children. Why do we hope to impose our views on Disney or anyone else? If we want it done, maybe we should take it upon ourselves...

And don't act like I can control the fact that I'm a melting pot... I am Black!!!! Simple...Rapunzel reflects me? Lol your an ass... We will agree to diagree... And I won't be holding my breath waiting to see princess Elizabeth with Prince Shawn, or Hassan anytime soon... If I had a daughter right now we would not be going to see this... Our asses would be looking at fossils at the museum of natural history the day this ish is released...
