NO other Princess has ever.....ever ended up with a Prince that was not the same race as her....Why do they always have to start BSing with us!....I understand the whole step in the right direction stuff....but damn....I call Bullshit when I see Bullshit! Do you think it is an accident that the Prince was not shown in any of the promos that have been running for over a year now.......Never an accident.

See that's the beauty of an opinion you have yours and I have mine. We can agree to disagree but, I can't help the fact that I'm bi-racial either... Oh! Hassan sounds like an Arabian Prince...bring him on! LMAO! However, I would like to see a Black Prince besides Prince Hakim.
(PS - Your daughter would see the damn cartoon anyway...)

She'd see it alright, later on in life, after she's seen many relatable images of happy, successful black couples... And Hassan doesn't have to be Arabic just like all Patrick's aren't Irish... Now if her dad is creole (lol) she can watch this until her face turns blue... Black is Beautiful all the time!

I like the princess, she looks beautiful 2 me. They have alot of nerve making controversy over this. I didnt see any complaints when the preacher in the Little Mermaid had a woody when he married Ariel & the Prince or on the cover of the Little Mermaid movie when the shape of the kingdom look like a pile of d**ks or when the clouds spelled out "sex" in the Lion King when Simba was laying on the grass. And cant forget the classic Fantasia when Mickey took a pill that made him start tripping, not a dream. And yall thought they was revising for better quality...not. Disney is full of it & always has been.

Actually the controversy with this movie was from the beginning. The original name for the princess was "Maddy" and the prince was White. Now that's some slave type ish in my opinion. Then of course the evil wizard as a Dark skinned Black man.

So they made a couple of changes, and made the prince middle-eastern. They probably just darkened the skin in the coloring. They also changed her name.

If you had Aladdin with an all Middle Eastern Cast, then you could have had an all Black Cast. But I think that Disney wasn't ready for that.

I think a black princess is a black princess and it's a beautiful thing. I grew up on Disney, so as much as I hate them, a lot of their cartoons are dear to my heart. As long as kids get to see beautiful black couples in their everyday life, why can't they see a mixed couple on the big screen? I think there's enough room for all of us and if we as parents act like we have a problem with interracial couples, our kids will too. If we act like love is love and there's no discrimination against who you fall in love with, they will feel the same way. Also, I agree, Disney would never have a white female character fall in love with a black male character unless they were living in a hut somewhere.

Are you all serious? You got Blacks and BM putting "others" on a pedestal all the time and we want to complain because this "cartoon" prince is light-skinned. lol How many commercials, movies, videos, tv shows display lightbright,biracial,white,Latino women as the love interests of bm(brown and dark-skinned) over darker skin toned black women. Sorry if I don't feel like crying and raising my bp over a freaking cartoon.
