For Women Who Want The Ballerific Life!
One of the world's most well known Basketball Wives, executive producer
Shaunie O'Neal is a force to be reckoned with. Beautiful, confident,
ambitious, and compassionate are only a few adjectives that can describe
this devoted mother of five, who began her career in film marketing.
Shaunie's goal with her series was to shed light on the complex lives of
the women who stand beside these larger-than-life professional athletes
and to show that it's not all glitz and glamour. An emerging
entrepreneur set to launch her own shoe line, as well as a
philanthropist who dedicates her spare time to helping others
(especially women and children) Shaunie shines both on and off the
screen. Having been married to one of the most famous basketball players
of all time, Shaquille O'Neal, Shaunie is Queen Bee to the rest of the
wives, who swarm to her for advice and guidance.
RoyceRoyce has been in the spotlight nearly her entire life. Born and raised
in Orlando loving all things sports, she is a former gymnast,
competitive cheerleader, and dancer for professional basketball teams in
both Miami and Orlando. Recently she started her own Burlesque Dance
Company Fantashique which travels all over Florida. The only thing more
colorful than her Fantashique dance moves is her personality. She is a
firecracker, a strong-minded, driven woman who is no stranger to
confrontation. While she's a sweetheart most of the time, Royce can turn
it on in a hot second and rarely bites her tongue. In the future, she
looks forward to pursuing her acting career, finding a new man, and
mixing with the rest of the basketball wives. Her hardest task with the
other wives will be debunking the negative stereotype that the wives
have against team dancers.
JenniferJennifer "Red Carpet" Williams is no stranger to the highlife having
grown up in South Orange, NJ, an upscale suburb just outside of New York
City. So it didn't surprise many when she ended up marrying a wealthy
and successful professional basketball player, Eric Williams, whom she
first met in 2000. Her glitzy lifestyle extends into her professional
life in being a high-end real estate agent and wildly successful
business owner of the upscale women's work out company Flirty Girl
Fitness. Behind all the bling, however, Jennifer supports several
charities and even founded Project Save the World to help fight several
different causes. Jennifer keeps her friends close and guards them
viciously. Her mercurial relationship with hubby Eric shows the unique
challenges and hard work it takes to be the wife of a professional
basketball player.
SuzieNo party in Miami really begins until Suzie Ketcham arrives. Having
lived in New Jersey, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and now Miami, Suzie is
connected all across the country and is the social butterfly of the
basketball wives. She met professional basketball player Michael
Olowokondi while attending college at Pepperdine University and was
pregnant with their first child her senior year in college. They would
have two wonderful children and be together for 10 years before finally
splitting. Having been with an athlete for that long, Suzie knows the
ins and outs of the "game" and is extremely protective and loyal to her
friends. If she senses that one of her ladies is being attacked, she'll
be the first girl on the scene ready to have their back. Now, fresh off
her break up, Suzie has her eyes set on her multiple charities, her
amazing children, her luxury real estate agent ambitions, and of course,
tackling the nightclub scene with her best group of basketball wives.
EvelynEvelyn Lozada was born in Brooklyn, raised in the boogie-down Bronx and
is always in a New York state of mind. Raised solely by her mother, this
Puerto Rican beauty always aspired to break out of her relatively small
world and always dreamt of something bigger and better. Evelyn had her
first taste of the entertainment world when she took a job as an
assistant to a well known entertainment attorney to the stars and would
eventually meet and become engaged to the basketball star, Antoine
Walker. Evelyn moved to her adopted hometown of Miami in 2007 and now
co-owns Dulce (and dulceshoes.net) an upscale shoe boutique located in
Coral Gables, Florida. Dulce now allows Evelyn to live out her childhood
dreams of fashion. In addition to being a socialite that supports many
charitable causes, Evelyn takes great pride in being a devoted mother
and businesswoman. She is highly regarded as a fashionista and style
trendsetter. Even before she founded Dulce, Evelyn was photographed not
just because of ex-fiancé's game, but because of her own impressive
"shoe game".
GloriaThrough her sister, who was a highly touted basketball player, at the
age of only 12 years old, Gloria Govan would meet the man whom she will
soon marry, Matt Barnes. After several years apart, Matt and Gloria
would reconnect when he played near Gloria's hometown of Oakland. The
two fell madly in love and now have twin 16-month-old boys. At the young
age of 24, aside from planning the upcoming wedding of her dreams,
Gloria is also focused with businesses outside of basketball and is
heavily involved in several charities including Matt's very own Athletes
Vs Cancer. Her storybook relationship always seems to be questioned by
the rest of the women who feel that it's maybe "too" perfect to be true.
Her hardest task is fitting in with the rest of the women who are
several years older and who constantly question her naïveté. Whether she
even cares what the others think is another matter!

Permalink Reply by Lil BIT (Ballerette In Training) on January 10, 2011 at 2:57am I really hope that this show is scripted ..... because I was ashamed for all of them . Tami , for saying that she would rather hang out with Evelyn and Jennifer ??? Why ???? They both look down on her , like they are better than her . Please don't get me started with the drunken argument about food stamps .... that just gets a ****BLANK STARE**** ! WTF is wrong with those chicks ? I mean .... I am human , and have acted an ass in public before , but it was on some real s*** , not some dumb ass , mean girls , ghetto b******* ! Like I said , I was ashamed ....... but yet I couldn't turn the channel ! lol
I will be tuned in for the next episode .... No shame in my game !

Permalink Reply by Mary Clark on January 16, 2011 at 2:26pm Gloria, Suzie, they got out of that WEB OF HATRED just in time.
THEY are not going to let those bitter, lonely, angry, hateful and miserable women corrupt them. I hope they STICK to their decisions and stay away from them, they will be happy they did.
Shaunie......OH my God, I used to think she was one of the most beautiful, classy and eloquent women I had ever seen
UNTIL I saw 4 episodes of the show. She is the HEAD HONCHO of the spiteful, angry, lonely miserable crew.
She showed how she could not be trusted when Tammi came to town and they had that PRIVATE talk, she ran
straight back to the crew AND told them, when she should have kept that conversation to HERSELF. It caused a
lot of drama.
Tammi......Should have stayed where she came from. If she thought by coming to be with THOSE WITCHES would
somehow make her a star or whatever the reason she came, when she got there she saw WHAT TYPE of women they were.
Honey, give me ghetto ANY day of the week. Tammi should take her family and GO BACK HOME.
Evelyn .....is a sadistic piece of work, she NEEDS to start all of that drama, to MAKE UP for the lonliness and
emptyness she feels inside, instead of dealing with the breakup, she has to start drama with EVERYONE,
to give HER A PURPOSE IN LIFE. I have never seen anyone who thinks its ALL ABOUT THEM like she does.
Her man SHOULD have left A LONG time ago, but better late than NEVER. wow what a piece of work.
Jennifer....the way this woman kisses Evelyn butt, its a wonder her lips has not turned into A BUTT.
She should leave Evelyn alone because she is becoming JUST LIKE HER.
WHICH is why Eric is on his way out of the door. she needs to leave the past in the past and should
have been trying to start a future with her husband, but she just could not LEAVE her CREW alone and
FOCUS, now look, HER CREW is all she has now. WOW what a pick "her crew", she is really stupid.
I thought I would die laughing when this woman said "she has never seen a food stamp" WOMAN Pleassse
She should have told the truth and said "she has not seen one SINCE she met ERIC".
Reese....OMG .Reese should drop those balls and chains and focus on the relationship she has with
Dawayne, before he gets sick and tired of HER CREW and he walks.
By them not coming to her fashion show should have been a RED FLAG, if they were her true friends,
they would have showed up in SACKCLOTH just to support her, but they were to worried about THEIR IMAGE,
to support A FRIEND. This is her opportunity to see them for what they are AND RUN or Dawayne is going to RUN, sooner or later.
I use to think their MEN were crazy for leaving such lovely women, AGAIN after seeing some episodes of the show, My God I can understand why EACH one of them left. You give some of our people a microphone and 15 minutes of fame,
they will show you their TRUE selves and their TRUE characters.
The only thing I dont understand is why did it take Evelyn's man THAT LONG to leave her.
Maybe if they focused all of their attention on their HUSBANDS and FIANCEs' instead of each other they would be HAPPY now, instead of on TV showing the world how bitter, angry, lonely and miserable they are because ALL of their men left them, Maybe if they went to church or bothered to pick up a bible sometimes, they would not have time for all of this stupid teenage drama. Grown women behaving like 2 year olds in front of the world, unbelievable.
Permalink Reply by ChiGeminiGirl on January 16, 2011 at 3:22pm Evelyn & Jennifer deserve each other they are just alike 2 fake ass b******...Royce is the realest on the show not w/that BS...Gloria & Suzie seem to have their minds on reality all this TV BS is not what really matters to them...Tami i feel so sorry for her she just don't fit at all...Get yo personal s*** together 1st before you get on TV & embarrass yoself...Her ex-husband's wife is probably laughhing her as off...And her kids may realize why their dad was not around...Yo damn mama crazy as hell...SMH?!
Permalink Reply by The Philly Corporate Diva on January 16, 2011 at 9:36pm I am curious on what Suzie going to say to Royce next week. STOP TALKING TO HER SUZIE!!!! Royce gets on my nerves, but she keeps it 100% in terms of her friends. Her bf looks strange to me....
Gloria is full of BS, but at least she holds her ground about her family.
Evelyn & Jennifer are beautiful women...until they open their mouths. I feel bad for Chad Ochocinco.
Eric hit it ON THE HEAD when he said Jennifer's friends (and her) are all bitter women. And now there's nude pics of you floating around cyberspace. bye girl. I'm on #teamEric.
I am rooting for Tami to get it together; just bc you fell on hard times doesn't mean you have to look broke down or act a fool. If you can't hold your liquor, no rose' or Nuvo for you ma'am.
This show is a train wreck I can't stop watching!
Permalink Reply by MissBling on January 16, 2011 at 11:10pm Glad that Royce has stepped up her b**** factor this season, they were trying to punk her on the last.
Definitely glad Shaunie took an episode off...
Ev and Jenn are bitter reality b****** that think they are bonafide celebrities, if you are in happy relationship they gonna throw salt all in that s*** eg: Royce. I see more and more why Tyrese said that ish about hanging with people in the same type of relationship that you are in.
So sad for Chad... he doesn't know what he's gettin himself into.
Tami's hair looked much better, oh she got money for lipo? I'm mad that s*** was drippin all over the place.. Gross!
I was dead when Jenn gave Tami those food stamps from the 80's as a peace offering. She didn't want it with Tami..
Royce is right about Suzie, she is a punk ass b****.
