For Women Who Want The Ballerific Life!
If you ain't know, In Living Color is coming back in May. They did a casting for new Fly Girls I'm must say, the girls they picked look whitewashed (Not the dark-skinned girl) compared to the ones from the 90's. I can guarantee they only put the dark skin girl in there to not create backlash. Hell, their choreography is not even a person of color. Look at the fly girls from the 90's.

Now

Do you guys see a difference?

Basically there wasn't NO hip-hop dance classes back then. Rosie talks about this in the video below.

after the last post looks like they all have good resumes...kudos to the black girl. she's shorter than the other girls which is rare for dancers. i don't think they are as hard core as the other girls but you have to remeber Jenny from the block was a new yorker so i'm sure the choe. back then was a lot more street. these girls look like ballet/jazz trained dancers....we shall see.

But seriously, are we ready for another ILC??? I say do something else.
Permalink Reply by lisa on April 22, 2012 at 5:09pm I just noticed that the 'new" girls look very similar to the girls from the pass. I just hope this show don't be a rip-off of the original, or else it will flop!

Look at the white girls from the old school and now, they kinda look-a-like.

After watching the video above, I have to agree with everything you just said, Those girls look like they're trying hard to look "European" without representatives their race. Another problem, The original Fly Girls represented for HIP HOP. I hope the producers stick to that and don't throw in any of today's "popular influences"..techno, dupstep, Pop.

Yeah the new girls do look similar to the old ones but the old group looked like it had more of a multicultural appeal: 2 blacks, 1 spanish, 1 white, 1 "asian looking" but this new group looks more like the university i attend.. White, spanish, and the black they had to let in b/c of affirmative action
Permalink Reply by lisa on April 22, 2012 at 10:55pm Here is the new In Living Color cast....
It's a big month for past, present and future fans of FOX's sketch comedy show, In Living Color, as the network plans to celebrate the anniversary of its star-making series and also launch a new edition to hopefully do the same for today's young comedic actors.
Who is FOX and host, executive producer, and original creator/leader Keenen Ivory Wayans entrusting to reboot In Living Color in 2012?
So far we've learned of six new cast members (will update if/when necessary -- because this very well could be the full cast, since they're only committed to two episodes so far), and here they are: Jennifer Bartels, Josh Duvendeck, Jermaine Fowler, Kali Hawk, "Lil' Rel" Howery, and Maronzio Vance.
Before them there was...

STRONGLY dislike. I'm sure all of their resumes are impressive but their looks do not mesh well together. What could be appreciated about the former girls was that they were all great representatives of their race. No offense to anyone but I'm sick and tired of there not being adequate representation of Black women on shows geared towards Black people. And yes, in living color was always a multicultural show but who were the primary viewers?? I know plenty of gorgeous dancers in the Dallas area alone that could've been cast for this so I'm not feeling the whiteness and the fact that the one visible "black chick" has on pounds of wig/weave on her head. Just not an adequate rep of multicultural women of all shades/physical features.
