Oreo is introducing its boldest flavor to date.
The cookie empire is joining forces with the famous Sour Patch Kids to create the odd yet exciting new pick, Sour Patch Kids Oreos. The flavor was announced on Wednesday, April 24th.
These gummy-inspired treats may look like your classic golden Oreos, but they’re hiding a sour surprise within. Brace yourself for a burst of zingy goodness with each bite, complete with colorful inclusions that scream Sour Patch Kids fun. The famous Oreo cream filling will also be infused with the sour sugar typically sprinkled on each Sour Patch gummy, putting the finishing touches on this new creation.
In the official press release, Oreo explained the thought process behind this cookie.
“The OREO brand is always looking for playful ways to excite our fans. What better and more unexpected way to do that than letting SOUR PATCH KIDS playfully takeover our cookie?!” wrote Caroline Suppiger, OREO Senior Associate Brand Manager.
To sweeten the deal, Oreo’s website will be stocked with Sour Patch Kids Oreo merchandise, including an assortment of new gear with everything from bucket hats to crossbody bags, all decked out with images of these irresistible goodies. The merch line will arrive on May 2nd, days ahead of the Sour Patch Kids Oreo, which will hit grocery store shelves on May 6th.
Seemingly confident these cookies will be a hot commodity, Oreo is allowing fans to sign up for the presale online, which guarantees them a pack on debut day. This is particularly helpful for those who may not have access to the cookie locally.
