OBAMA: I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.

he is incredibly brave and smitty you are so right! i think romney is gonna say he supports it too and we can really watch some heads explode. HAHA!

He can't change now... He's already said that gays should be able to visit each other in the hospital but no marriage... So that would be too obvious...

Definitely a bold move, I'm proud of him. I hope the gay community shows up & votes b/c he's definitely going to lose some of the bible votes and I'm so tired of Romney, he's already taken credit for restoring the auto industry; his support of "domestic partnerships" will soon turn into supporting "civil unions" if it means getting the vote.

The Bible thumpers are hypocrites. The bible says 'the act' is an abomination not the person and it also says in these times the will turn to each other so them gaining rights should not be a surprise. If we pray and worship the same God they should leave their condemnation and punishment in his hands.
Anywhoo, I'm glad my POTUS is showing them he ain't afraid to tackle the tough issues. They're stalling his progress in every which way which is damaging any growth in jobs and the economic recovery.
