Someone posted this about her daughter, do you think there's racism in the classroom, or the teacher was just trying to have a decent discussion, or just being an ass.

For the most part I know he was dead wrong about telling that girl what race she was, cause it's none of his business...anyways...

"okay...my daughter has issues with being on time to class....and being on time anywhere to be honest

I can preach until the cows come home (and they are not coming in the city) and she will get up late and get to class late...

she has this sociology class on T-Th...the dude who teaches it is a ex-cop or something....

there are only 3 students of color in the class...my daughter. another woman(late 20s I think), and a young dude...

this man discusses race often and always asks the folks of color to give their opinion...(and during the inauguration times? it was a mess)

the other day....my child of course ....was late....

She says he picks on her.....by stopping class and asking for her reason for being late....Announces...

Well ...we see "K' has finally arrived...maybe she will tell us why she is late today... :-/ ^o)


I have NO pity on her on this...I keep telling her its her job now..(college) and she needs to be on time...and IF the man is picking on you....you are giving him ammunition by being late every day....

but then this is what he did the other day that really :thumbdown: :punch:

"K" said they got on some type of race discussion (as always according to her ) and the older girl in the class was absent so it was just her and the dude there of color

He asks my child if she would ever date a white man

(NO OFFENSE TO ANY ONE OF ANY RACE....I am just stating the events)


"K' says NO..

Professor..."Asks her why not?"

"K' says

I dont know I just wouldnt feel right ...just wouldnt want to.

Do you know what this joker said next?? (now you can go into the pic thread and look at my child's pic)

"well I dont know why you would have a problem because you know you have white in you somewhere"

Now please reference my comment above because I mean nothing foul by this discussion....

My child is adopted and has always wondered about her heritage...but I know and she knows many people who are 100 percent black who are extremely light....with sandy hair etc...

"K" responds...."No I dont think so. And she told him that she knows alot of light black people who are not part white"

He says...."You can not be that light and not have white in you somewhere so you need to go home and talk to your parents"

WHAT KIND OF :slap: is that for a professor to say??

so my child was fuming....and I dont understand this joker's approach....

she said No to not wanting to date outside of her race....go on with another person in the room...

she says he is always bringing up racial topics and arguing with her and the other woman in the class...

but I think he crossed the line this time.....
