I really can't believe these recent public comments that are being made about both races. It's belittling as hell.
I read that Chris Brown old girlfriend was going off on black girls saying that they crimp their hair to get the wavy wet beach look trying to have "good hair"
Slim thugs ignant comments. Then the girl amanda diva:
This is disappointing to me... It bothers me so I know it's bothering our little girls growing up.
Is this s*** racist or a preference?

Amanda is an artist. Never heard her stuff but we have mutual friends. I was quite surprised about her comments because she is the poetic "power to the people" type. I was mistaken.

Yeah, I've seen her on something on VH1, one of the specials. I wouldn't see her as being the type to co-sign those statements. Who knows, it could be because of something in her upbringing (isn't she biracial?).

It's been open season on Black people since we got here, the only difference is now nobody else has to talk bad about us because we're doing it all by ourselves. You DO NOT see other races talking about their own women like Blacks do. You DO NOT hear music from artists of other races calling their women b**** and ho and sending out the message that they're really only good for sexual purposes. They pay these rappers BIG money when they use their words to tear down their women>family structure>communities. It's sad how un/miseducated a lot of Black people are.

A very wise person in my life said "Empty barrels make the most noise." And that is what I think of all these folk making these blanket statements about black women. They are trying to get noticed and they have been noticed but for all the wrong reasons. With time they will realize this and hopefully recant. Anyone remember how staunchly Jane Fonda was against the Viet Nam war? Ever so recently she finally apologized for all that nonsense she was spewing back in the day.
We will do for our little brown/black/beige beautiful girls the same thing we been doing for centuries, tell them to ignore the naysayers' azzes and laugh quietly behind your eyes as they continue to chase us down. Honestly, Slim's comments gave me the impression that he tried to get with a sister who was out of his league and she let him know it and kept it moving. *shrug*
