Wow. This statement alone should let her know shes' never getting a ring.

I have no problems with couples that choose to cohabitate and never get married. Some people don't believe in marriage, I don't understand that logic, but hey, whatever works for them.

When you AREN'T married, and use MARRIED terms to justify/describe your relationship, something's wrong. Someone in that house isn't happy with the way things are, and the other person is using words to justify it.

Thats how alot of men are, I personally don't believe in marriage, so I would never refer to someone (seriously) as my husband............you are just setting yourself up for disapointment when you do things like this.........but at the end of the day, this is just another way to keep someone, without anything binding...........

There are a lot of messages to be seen in that statement.

1) He's not going anywhere

2) She's more than his girlfriend & the woman of his house

He aint leaving her no time soon.

He said this awhile(at least before their 2nd child was born) ago at a conference & white reporter from Akron chewed him out about calling her that when she isn't his wife.

I guess some of y'all still aint realized women don't control when a couple gets married! In this day &age take what you can get or have nothing at all,which according to stats is what blk women are doing now anyways!

This is such a self defeating attitude....We have more control than we think...I too lived with my BF for a while but boundaries were set and he knew I would not just be there no matter what. On many occasions I let him know what my expectations where and gave him the oopotunity to " bow out gracefully" no harm, no foul if it wasn't a part of his plan. His "wife" needs to let himknow she won't sit around being wifey she can leave and be ok she had the kids already. Men will continue with this B******* until we decide to DEMAND more...
