What it boils down to is this, "Why buy the cow when he can get the milk for free" I totally agree with you BA Madam! Also, that kind of man already has the roles set for the women in his life, she's the one he wanted kids with, then I am sure there is a woman on the side that is evrything she's not(looks, career, no kids yet, you name it), then there are the random chicks he has scattered everywhere. In the end "wifey" will be there because he has sucked her dry of her "young and fine years" then he will marry her. I know this first hand cause I just spent the past 4 1/2 years being the "great" girlfriend, I was everything the "ole girl" wasn't. It's all a hott mess and everyone in the situation will always suffer on some level. Thankfully I finally wised up and left, there are no blessings in "demoralizing situations" no matter how you justify them. Rings don't make a marriage, but as my father told me, don't practice for a position that isn't yours. In other words don't play wife when you are only a girlfriend. Common law suits get thrown all the time!

Why are you trying so hard to convince someone you don't know about something you didn't do? i.e. research the law regarding palimony and common law marriage in the state of Ohio.
If you had you would have posted said information to support your argument. But you didn't you simply threw an e-hissy fit laced with profanity. I'm not mad at you, I understand you lacked the intelligence to do anything else.
Maybe now you will actually research palimony and common law marriage laws and how a longtime partner who is not the breadwinner is provided for after the relationship dissolves. That would be good information and I unlike you would be open to new information regardless of who provides it, even if it contradicts a once held opinion or belief.

I glad that you are out of that situation. The sentence that I have highlighted, I have some disagreement with, because, although the man may end of marrying the longtime gf, sometimes he does not and marries someone completely different and new (not one of the women in waiting so to speak).
