So He Says He Should be the "King" of the Castle?
Hey yall,
So this is my last week of vacay and I'm just chillin. I'm seeing this dude (just one of a handful on the roster;). I just got off the phone with him. He's on his way to bible study..which is a plus!:) I love a church-going spiritual man! But he gets on my nerves at time (I can excuse it cause I can just be moody at times so I don't take it too personal). Anyways, the conversation was a lil slow. He was like...why aren't you really talking? I'm like.."I'm just relaxing. But I can bring up topics to discuss." (To be honest, I'm just chilling and wanna keep this cool. I hate the 50/50 question/interview thing anyways.) So I rumble off a lot of random topics cause it irked me a lil bit. (I'm thinking if he wanna hear me talk, then you're about to get it!) So here's how the convo went after mentioning random topics to discuss....(paraphrasing)
Me: When you're 70, how do you see your life?
Him: Blah, blah, blah...
Me: Do you wanna settle down here?
Him: Yes
Me: So what if you wife gets a job in Pakistan making $450K a year, would you go? Would you be willing to pack up and leave and follow your wife to settle down in another country?
Him: No, probably not.
Me: Why?
Him: I gotta see what's best for me. I'll have to talk to god about it and make a decision.
Me: But she'll be the bread winner?
Him: Yeah. But it aint about that. I'm the man of the house.
Me: Oh really, so what qualities do you think is sufficient to qualify as being the "man of the house"? Cause if someone wants to be president of the US, I need to know your beliefs, views, and policies. I mean, if you want to run the country, I need to know what you're working with.
Him: Let me ponder that question....I'll get back to you. And don't give me a time frame cause I don't want to feel obligated to give a response too soon.....
What nigga!?!?!? So you wanna be the king of the mother f****** castle but you don't know what it takes to do that. awwww, lord give me strength!!! I just can't take this....
Now I'm turned off. Listen partner, if you wanna run s***, I need to know what you're working with. You are not about to be President or CEO of this company and you don't even know what it takes to be effective at your position. I need to know your outlook, your growth plan, how you treat those who are beneath you, your decision-making skills, and how you react to pressure and negative b*******. I mean the list goes on and on!
But really, he wanna be the king of the castle!??!!? Boy bye!!! (Literally....on to the next one)!

chile. so he calls me back after bible study to discuss. he's ready to give his "qualifications". but first he wants me to give my list. i happily oblige. so run down a "list" of qualities i possess. his response..."wow, that's a lot. i wasn't expecting that much. i figured a few things but no all of that. most people are striving to be those things but it's impressive that you have those qualities." i thinking to myself ....
so he gives his list...of 5 things. which is fine. but i'm still like boy bye. this is a bentley. imma need you to be able to RECOGNIZE great quality when you see it. its clear that you aint use to it to definitely require it or notice it immediately. i don't think i'll be able to give this a chance. it'll be like putting a new store in the hood. hood niggas don't appreciate a new store!! so i aint gonna be able to give him this bentley. not even a test drive.

I so relate to this! I'm a jaguar striving to reach Bentley status and dudes these days are used to.......Hyundais?!! I can't. The weeding out process can be tiresome and worrisome. Sometimes I truly believe it is the end of days.
