For Women Who Want The Ballerific Life!
Permalink Reply by Siren on April 17, 2012 at 4:20pm This is sad. I saw something like this that made me sad in Dunkin Donuts with this lady ordering 2 sausage egg and cheese croissants for her daughter with an order of tater tots and a large sluch drink. This little girl could not have been any older than 10 years old but she was well over 200 lbs. The guy behind the counter gaver her a total and she was like no that's just for her... I wanted to tell her b**** take her home and cook her a healthy nutritious meal!

Basically most of the packaged food, everything that is intended to be stored for long periods of time, everything that says diet, even baby formula has additives which kill nervous cells and it leads to all kinds of defects including obesity in children that is impossible to fight because it's in their brain.
So I believe now it's not just parent's fault, but mostly parent's that are not aware of what their children eating and importance of exercise. I know when i was a child I could eat whatever i wanted and as much as I wanted and i wasn't getting fat, mostly because everything was home cooked I played outside all day with other kids.

Permalink Reply by mavsbabe41 on April 17, 2012 at 7:41pm Agree! I think it is both parents and the food industry (mainly the food industry). We must educate ourselves about our bodies and what these evil businessmen put in these foods to make a quick buck yet sometimes, when you have to make ends meet, sometimes, you have to sacrifice what you can afford to eat for you and your family. I have been trying to be pro-organic and it's so hard to break the old habit of eating processed food so much yet organic products are expensive!

Permalink Reply by DdoubleD on April 17, 2012 at 9:19pm I agree, eating right is so expensive. I think a lot of times people don’t know what’s in the food their eating. Pick up a box of cookies and read all the stuff that’s in it. Even look at things that are suppose to be healthy like lean cuisine. I have gotten a lot better about cooking my own food, not eating any fast food (except the occasional chick fil la). I truly believe what we are eating has a direct connection to many issues such as children born with special needs, obesity, and even cancers.
We must education ourselves and do better and hope the rest follow!

Permalink Reply by Creative Bee on April 17, 2012 at 9:47pm I don't think it's expensive, in fact fresh produce is pretty cheap especially on local farmers markets, the meat can get pricey but you can eat more nuts and peanut/almond butter or cheeses to keep your protein intake on the normal level. What is really hard is to find time to cook and change your ways like readying labels and do it yourself instead of buying packaged stuff and get used to the taste of healthy stuff, unhealthy crap tastes so good and so easy to get, that's why it's so addictive,
Permalink Reply by DdoubleD on April 17, 2012 at 9:54pm Organic meat is expensive for me, its hard when non organic meat is so much cheaper. The fruit and veggies are pretty affordable. I'm lucky because I eat breakfast and lunch at work and my boss eats organic and loves to cook.
I started cooking a few meals on Sunday to eat for dinner throughout the week. I always keep some cooked chicken breast in the fridge so I can through it on salads or eat with veggies.

Permalink Reply by MS. UCAN NEVA GET ENUFF!! on April 17, 2012 at 10:54pm I haven't really got with the organic, but a lot of people say its expensive to eat healthy. I think its expensive when you don't plan your meals and actually cook. If you sit down and plan your meals, it comes out less expensive (IMO) than eating all that junk.
SInce Im slim, I used to eat almost everything that I wanted. When I started working on my six pack, I began reading labels more closely and I took a nutrition class. I now read labels on almost everything that I buy and I pay most attention to the sugar content. I try not to eat anything with more than 10g of sugar per serving, and thats too much. (4 grams is equal to 1 teaspoon of sugar) I look at fat also, but I don't eat a lot of fatty foods.
