Whats unrealistic? Having a job, car, & place is too much to ask?

Now us...meaning black people...have different preferences. For instance, have you ever seen a middle eastern or hispanic or any other culture with deep family values allow their sons to move out of the home until theyve achieved some sort of financial stability? I work with a guy right now who just moved out him moms house at 33. But he owns 8 buildings and finally had enough money and STABILITY to buy a home for cash. At times I believe black women/black men are on two different wavelengths...then again I see how my gf acted towards me when i said i was selling my home and staying at one of the family apts until we move out of state and she simply said smart move honey.

Permalink Reply by blackfujones on June 13, 2012 at 2:53pm come on now lets not throw that on all black men..thats just like me saying all black women are cling-ons because they look for men with houses/jobs/cars etc... while all they a**** are in school staying with mommy and getting an allowance? See thats how some black men take it. Like i said whatever works for you doesnt really matter what others think about it.

Permalink Reply by marissa taylor on June 13, 2012 at 4:13pm I think the basic standards ... job , car and his own place ... isn't that crazy of a demand ... You can date a man and he lives at home with his mom ... he helps out ... but he is there saving money to get a house ... I knew a man that did that and when he moved out ... he moved out into a nice big home .....If you don't want a man with kids i get that ... i don't have any so i understand that ... But to find a good man now a days is hard ... so i dropped the ball on that kids situation ... i can date a man with one child depending on the child's age ... but that has to be his one and only ... and his baby mother should be married or have a boyfriend or something ... i am not into the fresh breakup situation ...women should have standards .... but they shouldn't be so crazy ... like i want a man 6.5 ... if u r tall i get that ... but if u short ... why is that your demand .... My standards are high for everything else besides the physical... i am more attracted to personality then looks ... that one of strangest things about me ... never understood that lol

So what would you consider to be standards?

Permalink Reply by MissBling on June 13, 2012 at 5:13pm I think we can say most honestly because we are talking about cultural differences. Most american black men that live with their parents aren't stacking to buy property or even invest. If they were to get put out they would take their tired ass to one of their gf's house because they don't have a pot to piss in. Instead they have a sneaker collection worth a small fortune.... Other cultures instill the importance of being financially stable in their kids. Most Black Americans have to figure that s*** out.
