Hi Everybody!

*Waves Real Hard*  I recently participated in a debate which blew my mind! I was talking to a male friend and he stated that some women's standards were to high!

Now I asked him what he meant by that and the first thing he tells me is if I guy doesn't tell a female what she wants to hear she automatically shuts the door on him rather than work with him or talk it out.. So to the men what is considered to high?

** Apparently my standards which include having a job, car, house, no kids, etc, is too high so please help me understand... Thanks :)

He is right, i have heard that n4 and I didn't believe it but it us true.Alot of these women now a days lack self acceptance and self esteem.I'm telling you men only have it easy these days because these women got it all f'd up.
Women hide their flaws or use them to beat themselves in the head.
Why? Do you need advice?

The problem with many black women is you guys are not taught to choose a man based on character and potential you guys are taught to choose a man on how much money he has at the moment. If any of you did meet a brother that was trying to build most of you woulda look him over for a guy that has money at the moment.

I think what Brii listed are standards but the way she broke it down makes them come across as preferences.  Basically, she wants a man who's INDEPENDENT.........that's a standard.  Whatever reason a man has for moving back home, he needs to work that out before he starts a new relationship.  How can he concentrate if he's not stable???  He can't......he'll get sidetracked #pointblankperiod. So we're actually doing those men a favor by NOT f**king with them

+1

What MB said in spades. OHMIGOSH one day I was on my way back to the office after lunch and there was a young brother standing on a corner begging for $0.75. I looked all the way down to his feet. His kicks cost more than my own and he had the nerve to catch an attitude when a sister kept on walking past him like he was invisible.

I think we can say most honestly because we are talking about cultural differences. Most american black men that live with their parents aren't stacking to buy property or even invest. If they were to get put out they would take their tired ass to one of their gf's house because they don't have a pot to piss in. Instead they have a sneaker collection worth a small fortune.... Other cultures instill the importance of being financially stable in their kids. Most Black Americans have to figure that s*** out.

I didn't say all. Y'all fellas do that all the time. Every time we say MOST y'all reply stop saying all black men blah blah blah. Come on player, play fair.

blackfujones said:

come on now lets not throw that on all black men..thats just like me saying all black women are cling-ons because they look for men with houses/jobs/cars etc... while all they a**** are in school staying with mommy and getting an allowance? See thats how some black men take it. Like i said whatever works for you doesnt really matter what others think about it.

CCD is Workin on a baller 4 she said:

That's because most black men who stay home do just that. Stay home and don't contribute shyt to the home, don't go buy property, they just run the street and play game on women.

You, sir, are the exception. Not the rule.

blackfujones said:

Now us...meaning black people...have different preferences. For instance, have you ever seen a middle eastern or hispanic or any other culture with deep family values allow their sons to move out of the home until theyve achieved some sort of financial stability? I work with a guy right now who just moved out him moms house at 33. But he owns 8 buildings and finally had enough money and STABILITY to buy a home for cash.  At times I believe black women/black men are on two different wavelengths...then again I see how my gf acted towards me when i said i was selling my home and staying at one of the family apts until we move out of state and she simply said smart move honey.

ehh whatevs

brii So many young black women put unrealistic standards on young black men. You guys want us to be successful overnight and that is not realistic. So many of us buy things that make us look successful Because many women are not willing to wait for a man to become successful

What is your definition of 'successful'?????  Having a job, your own place to stay, and transportation to get you back and forth between the two does not equal 'success'........potential, yes....success, no

U can't seriously put this $hit on a black woman. #comeonson

Then this shows you're shallow and easily led. Put your big man draws on and be a MAN, get your s*** together and focus on being a stable man and you'll attract a woman who will 'match you'. Not a woman who will focus on the 'material things' you buy that have no value.

SN: I'm still waiting for your video and bank statements :)

Am I really getting ready to entertain this?
Tone what?!? I understand success takes time, but since when does having a car and a place to stay make you successful? That just means that you might have a possible chance... I want all men to be successful period, but "SOME" men get complacent with just doing alright or just enough to get by.. Don't blame women for what y'all choose to buy

*Blankstare* why do you always think some women or people have self esteem issues?
