I use to go to this church here b/c it had a more relaxed atmosphere (it was truly a "come as you are" church). The chicks use to dress scantly but when they got that new young, single pastor...It was on and popping!! Those skirts got shorter and tighter and the front 5 pews were always filled. I had to quit going,t hey Amen'd everything he said, it was so sad.

I realy wishI could find a come as you are church....an acquaintance of mine invited me to her church I won't go because Women are REQUIRED to wear hats... In my opinion God doesn't have prerequisites for his children  so Hell no and WTF are the hats supposed to be some special antenna to reach the Lord? This chick always complaining about being broke shopping for hats...oh and they do 3 collections at her church too... I can't

That is the dress code for most non-denominational churches.

Well thanks for educating me because I had not a clue the churches I used to go to some of the women wear them but it was never a "requirement" ...I personally believe that church should not have a dress code.

Those old people are stuck in their old ways. They obviously miised the sermon on "come as you are"! LOL

Now I will NOT wear anything too short or tight because I think that is not appropriate. a woma should have clothes for every occasion, not just "the club". *IMO*

Co-Sign 100%  but I also don;t feel you should have to "dress up"  as my granny used to say you should be clean and presentable but God is not impressed by grandiose trimmings.

i had an out of town cousin come to my grandfather's funeral dressed like she was that chic dancing at nia long's wedding in soul food. so not good. i usually try to defend her attire in other settings but at church for a funeral i couldn't say nathan.

I aint gone lie, I dont have "church"  clothes - the casual stuff that I do have in my closet I havent wore in like forever, so Im always struggling to find something to wear to church,  I dont wear the same clothes that I wear to the club to the church, but i do wear the same heels

Find a predominantly white non-deniminational church... It's usually no dress code...
