T.I.’s Loooong Farewell Will Finish at Philips Arena May 24
In a farewell tour that is increasingly dwarfing Cher, Tina Turner and Brett Favre’s, rapper-actor T.I. announced Wednesday that his final pre-prison concert will be held at Philips Arena Sunday, May 24.
The price for the concert with the Grammy winner and his fellow Grand Hustle recording artists: an economical $36.70. Explains the performer (who pleaded guilty to federal weapons charges in March) via an e-mail sent to Buzz Central: “This is my last gift to my fans before I go away for a year. The $36.70 ticket represents the time I will serve while I’m away. Philips Arena will definitely be the place to be on May 24th!”
Technically, T.I. was sentenced to one year and one day which is only 366 days. Buzz was left to ponder how the event’s organizers came up with the $36.70 ticket price (late word Wednesday was that the ticket price might be lowered by 10-cents). Regardless, tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at www.philipsarena.com and www. ticketmaster.com, the Philips Arena Box Office or charge by phone at (404) 249-6400.

TIP is doing 2 months and not the whole year. The judge granted him time served for the 305 days he did on house arrest. Yes you heard it right. I live in Atlanta and one of the biggest hip-hop journalist in the ATL and he is not doing no 60 days. I actually got a blog going up about this on my personal blog isiswisdom.com today. Unbelievable if that you was you or I we would never see the light of day. So all this going away and re releasing his album is a bit much if you ask me.
