Well I have traveled solo but I knew people in the city I was going so I wasn't truly alone. I say go for it, just be smart and let people know where you are going. Its all about planning and being smart. Don't let people know that you are alone and everything should be cool.

I believe the Team USA basketball training facility is in Vegas.

I havent been to a lot places because I was afraid of going alone..I met his chick that went to Thailand and Bali by herself, which kinda encouraged me.  I've only spent a few days in Dubai and Cananda by my self though.  I staye in DC by myself when my cousin had to go back home and had a ball.   Im still kinda iffy of foreign countries, but I say I would go to the caribbean with no problem. 

Girl, thats one of my reasons for going into education.....summers off

I agree with Ms. U Can Neva Get Enuff. I say, stay in the continental U.S. (or the surrounding islands) and go our by yourself. I've never vacationed alone but I go out alone a lot and you'd be surprised at how easy it is to make friends. Go for it!

I took my little girl to Cabo alone last month and had a blast. Just practice basic safety skills and stay in touristy areas and you'll be fine.

LOL I am traveling alone right now and do often. Never skimp on where you stay. Do your reasearch. I am currently abroad...Europe is VERY safe with tons of "walkable/bikable" city/states and you can travel through several breathtaking and strikingly different countries in the same time that It would take you to see another American state. Make friends wherever you go. Act confident and as if you belong....

So far I have been to around 27 states and a few countries alone...or meeting someone at a later date...depends. 

Now, whenever my favorite executive "friend" books my flights to visit him wherever in Europe...he books day long layovers there AND back to the country of my choice! I usually arrive that morning and leave that night.. or stay at a hotel IN or NEAR the airport...which, to me is also safe! 

Now, in addition to visiting him, I get a few days to myself exploring a new place.

win/win.

Also, I live in Atl too :)
