As I am sitting on the plane I overhear two chicks talking about their "ballers", I wouldn't be surprised if they were here on BA and are reading this now. So I decided to write this forum discussion.

What is your definition if a baller? If you say "athlete" then please, your BA card is revoked. But honestly, how much or how little does a man have to make in order for you to take him seriously and consider him a baller? Now let's be honest, half of yall will never meet, socialize, date or hell even marry a "baller" so where does that leave you?

Does your baller have to make  no less than $250,000 a year or no less than $50,000 a year?

Does his money have to be "legal money". I'll be honest, I dated a guy heavy in the "dope" game and I'm not talking weed. He wasn't selling it, he was suppling it. BIG TIME. Hell, I even dated a dirty cop "training day style" that was always HEAVILY paid off. And the lifestyle, although not safe nor financially secure and reliable, it was extremely rewarding. But things like that don't last, and my life is a terrible thing to waste.

My definition of a baller is NOW a LEGAL man LEGALLY making $200,000+ a year AND whose net worth is above and beyond that.

HLN's Clark Howard makes $350k a year and his net worth is estimated at $4million dollars.
That's just a little food for thought.

So what's your definition of baller? How much or how little does he have to make to "win" your attention or your panties?

Baller IMO is someone with disposable income ( regardless of how much they make) with no debts, no babies or ex spouse to support and is conservative with their money. Together with my balling a$$ we can multiply what we have and make it work.  Heck you have some ballers on Clark Howard status and they still broke.

Balling to me is also a mental state. If you making 2 mil and you spending 4 then u broke.

Everyone's definition will be different.

*passes $picey rent money* I agree the only thing I'd add is manageable debt. Everyone needs a little of it but they should be able to pay it off at a moment's notice.

my opinion, a man that has substantial income that can be redirected to provide some degree of financial security and stability for another. That is the qualifier, however funds can be redirected for frivilous pleasures as well.

I agree. A mortgage or student loan (which is an investment in yourself) or a business loan within your earning range. No wasteful spending because you're eating out every night and putting it on your credit cards. The spend now pay later mentality.

Balling is relative...

And +1 to Spicey & CC

yeah, Im going with the majority and  agreeing with Spicey.  If a guy has prepared for life early enough...he can be a "baller" making 50K a year (IMO). He has no mortgage, car payments, etc..so all his money goes to me....lol.  But 50K with bills and everything..hell nah....OAN:  my dream baller makes no less than a million and spends wisely.

What if that guy that makes a million a year has debts that are over a million?

Disposable income is the key.  If you don't have money that you can spend on some luxuries you aint baller.  Debt to income ratio is sooooo important.  Financial knowledge is very important also.   I follow Dave Ramsey's teaching (for the most part).  If a man is not set or getting set for retirement he damn sure aint ballin!

Like Alley said sometimes those in the "dope" game can be really ballin.  Also, they don't mind spending my money because they live by the motto easy come, easy go.  This kind of "baller" is NOT one you are suppose date but just get in and get quick and easy cash!

@DdoubleD: I agree with that comment .. All the dope game ballers I know .... eventually have gone broke ... or back to be being the norm ...That's a very short lived career ... unless you find a DBOY that is smart and makes investments .
