So my 13 year old nephew tells his mom that he is bisexual *coughs and choking*. And his reasoning he says is because he is explorative. First off the boy is confused one minute he wanted to grow dreads because his absent father had them, then he was a bully at school but tried to act like he didn't do it. I don't get. And my sister just acts as if his reason is okay with her, but a few summers ago his older brother was semi pimped by their neighbor (whose a grown ass 30 year old woman hanging with 12-16 year old boys an girls) who watched these young kids do sexual things to each other. My sister acts so nonchalant when it comes to her children and they all boys (4). I'm scared to have my son go over her house at times because of how she acts, and whats so scary is the nephew whom is confused my son adores him. Please Please give me some input. It's as if the children are already sealing their futures before the even know what living is. Is today's t.v. programs or music artist to blame or is it the lack of parenting?

So angry with your sister. I blame the parents when these things happen. If her other son was allowed to go over that neighbors house with no qualms, then she's a horrible parent. I would suggest you keep your kids away. I hate to say it but you can't save everyone. If she will not parent him, there's nothing you can do.

+1 I wouldn't let ANY child near her, blood kin or not. Because my question to you is: If she's ok with what the neighbor does then what is she into?

I have a friend whose son came out to her. He was molested by a family member of his fathers. Your sister is ignoring a bigger issue and from what you said about her older son and the going ons with the neighbor there is no telling of what happened to all of the kids that go over to the neighbors.

Was the neighbor charged??  i wouldnt send my child over there because your sister doesnt make sure they're safe.

As for your nephew, what makes you think he's 'confused'?? Around 13 is when our 'crushes' start.  If he has a crush on a boy, it is what it is.  I believe sexuality is determined at birth and by the time a child is 3, anyone who is paying attention can tell what that child's sexuality is.

you already said that your sister acts nonchalant so the blame is squarely on her. not the media, tv, music or anything else.  his sexuality is what it is but that doesn't mean you get to do what you want w/who you want. he's still a child.

As a christian & a female  .. I'm happy he's comfortable with himself to admit this .. I feel the more we accept men being gay .. the easier it'll be for women to find mr.right and not mr.down-low. They hide because they're ashamed.. shouldn't ashamed of urges you can't control. I hope God leads him & makes him grow into a strong man.

You definitely know if a kid is gay the minute they start to show their own personality. I know this for a fact because I have a little brother who recently came out and I had to explain to him that I knew he was gay when he was still in diapers.  But as far as your sister and her sons.  There's not much she can do about the bisexual one. Being nonchalant may be her way of handling the news. As far as her letting her child kick it with someone twice their age who basically pimps him out for their amusement, SHE is to blame for that. I know u can't control teenagers these days but she sure could have gone to authorities or beat SOMEBODY'S ass...

Lol @beat somebody's ass. I think kids today see gay and bisexual as a fad. They think its cute and I think the media has something to do with it. I had an uncle growing up and everybody just knew he'd be gay but he's not. He was just a young boy who acted soft like his sisters. My newphew that I told yall about likes glittery lotion and purfume. He also like skinny jeans, size small shirts (he's 6ft) and girly patterned socks. I think its a fad and the kids think its cool. I wouldn't let my kids go over there and I think that the mom should tell him that boys are boys and all that so he can see that in the real world gay and bisexual lifestyle is not normal.

I disagree.  I cant see eating another woman's p***y because it's a fad....UGH!!!   In this day and age, people are no longer afraid to be who they are.  As a result, our kids are not afraid to be who they are.  If you tell a young man who's extremely feminine that he's not 'normal', you're encouraging him to live  his life in the closet. Is that fair because your 'normal' is different than his???  IMO....'normal' is subjective.

I feel u on the normal thing but all I am saying is that kids don't even know who they are. My nephew the same one says he's dominican. Cuz he does not want to be black so he claims he is a dominican. Lol these kids are not centered in life enough for the media and outside influences to not dictate how they see themselves. They follow trends and fads and nicki rhi gaga and countless others have made it cool to say u gay or a less committal 'bisexual'.
I'm teacher at a learning center and there's a lil boy at about 8 or 9 and I already know he's gonna be gay lol he plays with dolls. He hangs with nothing but girls hes very sensitive.I didnt really think its start to show at that age but yea maybe he is just bi. Who knows
