For Women Who Want The Ballerific Life!
I'm starting to think I'm doing something wrong. I've never "needed" a million dollar man. I do date stable men (military officers, corporate heads of companies in general men with titles) Anyway I'm ready to settle down now and have been for a while. So it'll be 3 years ago later this month I decided to not have sex with anyone that wasn't a potential boyfriend. I've had sex twice in those 3 years and neither was boyfriend material. (Well one was a baller willing to part with a large sum of $$ but he was old and ugly as hell so no he wasn't either. And the other was the cable guy well a cable guy not my cable guy (hangs head in shame). My point is I have no problem getting a date. But I haven't had a boyfriend in 7 years and I'm not that old 28. I'm not a 10 but I'm not ugly either. And I know lots of ugly people with boy/girlfriends. I'm not waiting for a millionaire. I'm not a hoe and I again know a few hoes that have settled down. I don't even kiss on the first date any more. I want a man that can be a gentleman longer than 1 date. A man that can watch a movie without having his hands all over me. I want to get to know a man but all they want is sex. And I don't have a 90 day rule just maybe a 3 to 5 date rule. When men hear I haven't had sex in years they act like I said I never want to have sex again. I can't get to a 3rd date to save my life. And I don't want to tell them I'll have sex with you on the 3rd date for them to wait 3 dates and I never hear from them again. Am I missing something? Should I have given the guy working at the waffle house my # and throw away my standards? Please help! I'm horny.

Why do you care about what advice we give each other as women??? You seem to have a problem with women empowering women/supporting each other. Don't worry though, you won't be meeting or dating any woman on BA.
Dolla Back said:ima give you some advice, get off balleralert and stop listening to these women on here... yall call us "childish" but we can smell a goldiddgger from a mile a way and we treat them accordingly

MOS, the gentleman are gone because there's no longer a benefit to being a gentlemen in this day and age anymore. Also, you pretty much missed the boat being that you're 28.
See, when you girls are young and hot, all you girls go for are anything BUT the gentlemen, but soon as you get to 28-35, then you girls start scrambling around looking for a "gentleman." Well, you could have had him at 18 years young, but now that guy is either married, or he has turned into a f*** and chuck monster like me. :)
Permalink Reply by University of Smitty on May 14, 2012 at 10:33pm One thing is for sure, dont listen to azzholes trying to tell you where to find a gentleman....IJS
(1) the "others" get married at late stages in life often. Just look at will and Kate.
(2) It takes time for most men to become "gentlemen" ijs
(3) and to the underlined - I'd never get married at 18. Period. That just makes for a 30 year old h****. Or even worse: a 40 year old h****!

At 18 you're still in your discovery stage in life and still completing your education. Most men aren't ready to get 'married' until late 20's or early 30's after they've turned that 18yr old into a bitter person with all the hoeing and screwing around they do and turn into the f*** and chuck monster like he called himself. SMH
He has no right to compare her at 28 to an 18yr old, that stretch is like comparing apples to oranges. For him to focus on age and not the content of a woman's character (ambition, good conversation, family oriented etc.) still shows how much of a little boy he is and how much more growing he has to do to become a MAN. He probably has 40eleven kids and child support is killing his ass, so he comes to website to berate ambitious/educated women. Ignore is ratchet ass.
@MIS, everyone needs and wants a relationship with someone who's into them, respects them and is reliable. You will find that special someone but you will be frustrated and disappointed because you want it now.
You need to keep busy socially in the 'right settings' and show you're having fun, you never know who's watching. When you're consumed by the thought of being in a relationship you give off a vulnerable vibe that horn dogs zone in on. Relax, think of activities/things you can do to position yourself in the circumstances where the opportunities will present themselves. Do you volunteer at our daughter's school for example?

Permalink Reply by CCD is Workin on a baller 4 she on May 15, 2012 at 10:03am That part right there! I say this all the time and people think I'm kidding. When I'm out doing me and having fun is when I get approached by men. Stop sitting home lamenting being single and get out and ENJOY BEING ALIVE, BEING IN YOUR RIGHT MIND AND BEING ABLE TO MOVE.

Permalink Reply by Tracy on May 15, 2012 at 10:04am I think as single women you have to decide what's a standard and what's a preference. For me, my standards are honest, hardworking, financially stable, kind, generous spirit, caring, loyal, faithful, belief in something/someone greater than himself. My preference, tall, handsome (if only to me), big hands (lol), etc.
You also have to let a man be a man. People show you who they are, and sometimes when we're anxious we do a little too much hoping they'll pick us, when we should be choosing each other.
