In this day the definition of families vary. A woman can choose to be a single mother which doesn't necessarily mean the father is not active in the child's life. More women can sustain on there own which for some eliminates the need for a husband.

Sometimes it's just the hand you are given, some women were married and got divorced. I'm going to be a single mother because I'm 33 and getting to old, I haven't gotten married yet, so I assume it's not going to happen. I plan to get artificially inseminated.

You can not convince me to believe a woman intentionally picks a man that will leave his children. That's a complete assaine way of thinking.
I'm not the right person to have this dicussion with because I actually know more men that remain in their child/childrens lives than those that don't.
