For Women Who Want The Ballerific Life!
Yes this is a rant..read all of it, gloss over it, disagree with it but its mine..
Why I take it personal on fathers day.
I am a 31yr old male who has lived more than half of his life with his father staying exactly 2blocks north, one block west, and four houses from the corner to his father without ever saying a peep to him in 19yrs. I've had some amazing me, and crappy men in my life who've allowed me a greater appreciation for the title of DAD. My mother has been there threw thick and thin, yet the things that you women think that you've been able to give to our adolescents that we men only obtain seem to get glossed over. I really want to go into specifics but it would be futile, due to some womans rebuttal of THEIR MAMA BEEN DOING THAT SINCE FOREVER!!!
I hold the sentiments dear because they're only reserved for a unique group of people. Its not that many great mom's and dad's so when I tell someone their a great parent, or when one of these stupid hallmark holidays come up I give a pound or a hug to great men and women who go over and beyond what it takes to be a parent.
What kills me ultimately is this big hoorah for ALL WOMEN on mothers day. Where's the slander, where's the drama/hate/dead-beat moms etc that come on this day. Lord knows I have one because I'd gladly give yall her info to harass and bang on every year if ya wanna. Now here it is fathers day and this gender specific day has to be shared because of a portrayal by the media and word of mouth that...1)its a lot of crappy men, 2)women can do anything a man can do.
Well if thats the case I want you all to do this:
I want you to be your daughters first boyfriend, and you're sons first down dude.
Be the one she comes to when a boy disrespects her and she comes home crying..oh thats right you date one of those already
How about when your sons is out in public cussing and carrying on with his pants halfway down his ass..Oops thats right you bought him those clothes and allow him to kick it with his cousins pookie and his best friend ray ray who has one foot in the pen already.
I could go on and on how both parties are needed but it makes no never mind. You all will continue to believe we're useless, and that you cant recall not one man who made a difference in your lives. Whereas I know for a fact that I was a phone call away from countless uncles, coaches, mentors, etc. who had my back the day I felt I was man enough to throw my dad out the house and take the reigns, and to show me since then the proper steps into manhood that you all think is so damn easy.
Appreciate the slight and the slander because it only fuels more men like me.
Happy fathers day Ba guys

Some women feel like that because it does apply to their situation. Everybody doesnt see their glass as half full.......but hey, it's their glass. Just stay away from them on Father's Day.

Permalink Reply by Phoenix on June 18, 2012 at 9:45am I have two fathers. And an awesome father for my child.
These men have all shaped me to be the spoiled brat that I am.
And I appreciate them for it. They gave me the game and I ran with it.
I feel extremely bad for the women/men with no father figures.
And the single mothers. Geesh. IDK if I could handle that.
It's sad.
I recognize that I'm blessed by the men who surround me and protect me.
i feel ya and u r right some people turn it into a bashing instead of celebrating it for what it is. But i just feel if u did not have that experience with a dad and ur mom filled the role why not acknowledge her for what she did ...its not easy .....and to be real if roles were reversed and my dad held it down for me...was the first one to explain about my period....take me to get my prom dress....teach my how to put on makeup etc. cause my mom wasnt there... i would wanna give him a mothers day card as well as a fathers day card because i would feel like he held down both roles and deseved both ...granted he could not replace my mom but he did the best he could and should be acknowledged....i can't speak for all woman who have grown up without out a dad ...that's just my take
but side note u seem to be handling your business to the upmost i recognize and acknowledge that i hope you had a well deserved happy fathers day
