Stinking Rose - Los Angeles - It's a garlic restaurant. The roasted garlic appetizer with mussels, crab and shrimp is to die for.
Big fan of Prime 112 in Miami.. everything is delish. The lobster mac is good and the fried oreos = orgasmic. I heard they just added a fried red velvet cheesecake with ice cream. I can't even imagine lol
Permalink Reply by blackfujones on December 9, 2011 at 11:17am Nah....im sorry i think theyre the mcdonalds of cajun food..ill so pass. The etoufee I had there compared to the place i frequent now is no contest. Im a huge lobster bisque fan and when i had it there it tastes like they use 1 broth for every dish. There you can distinctively taste the shrimp broth n the bisque

You have to catch Pappadeaux in the summer when they're running some good specials. I used to not be a fan of theirs, but every summer they have some good lobster special running. That's the best I can do for lobster in North Texas, really. A lot of our upscale eateries will turn a lobster into rubber.
blackfujones said:dont you EVER EVER SAY THOSE TWO PLACES IN MY PRESENCE AGAIN....yuck! cheesecake factory is downright turrible. If you're ever in chicago its an italian spot called jerrys downtown. Their house wine is delectable. All of their noodles are freshly made, and the owner is a great guy. Usually he'll give you a free bottle of their wine to take home with you. and pappadeux is so utterly bad imo...they have no clue whatsoever on how to make food

Permalink Reply by Ms. Ashley Banks on December 9, 2011 at 11:49am Yeah, I don't go for their cajun dishes. Razzoos has them beat at a much lower price. And there's a lot of mom and pop places who shut them both down.

I have to agree with this one. I eat there sometimes when I am in Houston, but it is not memorable at all. There are some mom and pop spots that really do have it crackin in Houston. I love Cajun food, but I don't have a favorite eatery here in LA that really gets down. I have to wait until my friend's pops cooks and go get it in and no places in LA touch that home cooking.

Permalink Reply by MissBling on December 9, 2011 at 1:47pm Isn't it tho'? Their chocolate cupcakes are everything lol! The first time I bit into one, I had the juicy mouth like Wendy and drooled on myself lol! Some other little spots are:
Three Sheets Saloon: Hot wings and $3 shots. Eat your wings there, they're not the same when you take them home. They lose the crisp. Oh, and it's right next door to the infamous Mickey D's in the village, where the dude gave those girls the business.
El Puerto: 125th and Amsterdam... You pick your own seafood and veggies for them to make. I get all of mine broiled and veggies steamed. They are spanish so the seasoning is on point and they always have yellow rice. They have extra old bay, butter, and lemon juice on deck lol! After club hotspot lol! It's always packed they have red carpet and bouncers lol! Only in Harlem....
