This is so easy and yummy. I take it to all the office parties and ppl love it.
1 can of condese milk (I use low fat)
1 container of cool whipped (**if you want to make your own is easy. All is needed is 5 cup of cream, 1/2 cup of sugar and 1tblspoon of vanilla)
1 low fat angel food cake
1 or 2 pints of fresh strawberries
1 can of berry glaze if you can't find glaze by itself then the strawberries glaze is fine (for pie)
1/2 cup of sugar
First you want to prep the strawberries by removing the nonedible part then cut in halves. Put all your strawberries in a bowl then add the 1/2 cup of sugar and mix. Let it sit for about 20 minutes or so. The sugar will bring out the juices. For more red glaze, add some of the red strawberry sauce from the canned strawberries, the strawberries from the can are soft and mushy so be mindful to only spoon out the glaze.
** If you're making your own cool whipped: put the bowl in the freezer for about 15minutes. Take the frozen bowl out, add your cream and mix at medium speed. Don't mix for very long, mix until cream becomes whipped. Next add the vanilla and sugar. Mix again to blend vanilla and sugar with whipped cream**
Add condense milk to cool whipped cream and blend. I prefer to mix this manually with a spatula or big spoon because if not careful with an automatic mixer may make it too fluid. Next, break up your angel food cake into pieces and put in a dessert pan or dish. Make sure the entire pan is covered with the angel food cake. Then cover with the condense milk & whipped cream mixture. Once the entire pan or bowl is covered add strawberries on top. Enjoy..
