I'm in! Because of work/school I can't do an entire week, but I can definitely come up for opening festivities. I love the parades and pageantry. :)

I've never traveled with people not traveling with me before but travel sites and city sites offer group planners. And you can't book anything that's a year + in advance. Mardi Gras 2011 is March 8th. But I do know that I'll be staying 4stars minimum.
