Tiffany Haddish Says She Uses a Burner Account to Clap Back at Critics on X

Tiffany Haddish has found a way to get back at her online critics.

The 44-year-old comedian shared that she has a secret way of engaging with people who talk about her online: she uses a fake account on X (formerly known as Twitter).

During a panel discussion over the weekend at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books about her upcoming book, “I Curse You with Joy,” she humorously addressed the online chatter about her.

“People like to talk about me. I don’t know why y’all talking about me so damn much, but that’s okay. I like to talk about you too,” she joked.

Tiffany explained her approach further: “I made me a fake page and now I’m talking about s—. How about that? ‘Why is this lady attacking me?’ You talk about what goes around comes around, don’t worry.”

When asked if she uses a “Finsta” (a Fake Instagram account), Haddish clarified, “I don’t know about fake Instagram, but I definitely got fake Twitter. I mean a fake X, a fake X.”

This new book, “I Curse You with Joy,” is Tiffany’s second as an author, following her 2017 debut, “The Last Black Unicorn.” In it, she candidly shared her struggles with literacy until high school.

During the event, the actress credited her high school drama teacher with recognizing her reading difficulties and providing extra support to help her catch up. She fondly recalled how her teacher would have her read various materials aloud and guide her through them.

“My brain is different. The way my brain works is a little different. So I needed somebody to be sitting there for me and guiding me. I needed guidance,” Haddish expressed gratefully, emphasizing the profound impact her teacher had on her life.

Thanks to her teacher’s dedication, Tiffany gained the fundamental skills she needed and learned how to utilize them effectively, marking a transformative moment in her educational journey.

Tiffany Haddish’s latest book, “I Curse You with Joy,” is set to release on May 7th.
