Black Women, in my opinion, used to be the most GLORIFIED group of women.  Don’t tear these comments up but, what changed?

I’m not bashing any other races, at all. I believe we are all created equally. I love all people, but I am a black woman. I have questions though.  Does Sway have the…

Relationships 105: Marriage & A Wife vs A Married Woman

The topic of marriage surrounds me daily. As a young, unmarried, childless woman, I am often a prime candidate for unsolicited but much needed advice from near and far.

Relationship Rules for the Ballerific Chick: Life Goes on....

I remember like it was yesterday, it was 2006 and my freshman year in college. I was head over heels for this fine brother by the name of Norris*. He was 6’4, smooth honey brown skin with long milk and honey infused dreads and he was the leader of Alpha Phi Alpha. (Which is a big deal at an HBCU) He was so smooth! Reminded me of a Maxwell mixed with a little Raheem Devaugn. We dated the whole first semester, and during that time he opened my mind…

WHITE BALLERS OR BLACK BALLERS? WHITE BALLERS HAVE MORE OF EVERYTHING…

Or do they? Now, that last pick is Star Wars movie empire daddy George Lucas and his chocolate sister, a very successful CEO of her own company. She isn't with him for just the money (it never hurts to get more money), but perhaps the affluence or influence, or maybe it's just pure love. Think white boys don’t want black women? Think again. They say you have to have a certain look. You can’t look “too black”.…

ARE BLACK WOMEN TO HARD ON MEN?

There are 1,000,000 single black women out there. It has to be a valid reason for this. Black men are dating outside of their race and the numbers are increasing. It has become more common to see a black man with a non-african american woman on his arm.

I have a friend that recently divorced and he said if he was to ever get married again he would marry a white woman. This sadden me but I want to find out why.

I ran across… Continue

Back Down Memory Lane...Remember YOUR history!!!

Here we are in the lovely month of February which recognizes OUR history. We make history everyday, so therefore I celebrate it throughout the entire year. If it weren't for those same individuals who went against the grain, some of the luxuries I'm afforded today, I simply wouldn't appreciate. Much love goes out to Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Betty Shabazz, George Washington Carver, Madame C.J. Walker, just to name a… Continue
