By definition a Man Hater is a woman who thinks all men are scum without reason, and hates a man just because he is of the male gender.
I have many friends that I think fall into this category. They believe that ALL men are trifling dirty dogs. What many of them don't realize is how bitter they come off. Some of them have been hurt deeply by men and have held on to that anger, and others latch on to the anger of what men have…

What it takes to be a good wife…
Boss asked me to write a blog on being a good wife and I thought long and hard because I am still learning myself. Marriage is not easy, as a matter of fact I think a more appropriate title for it should be Work-age because that is what it takes to make it work. I sat…

This past weekend a tragedy occurred when Kassandra M. Perkins was cut short at the hands of her boyfriend/child of her father. Since this weekend there have been numerous articles speculating what may have caused this senseless tragedy. I have read articles questioning Ms. Perkins motives in dating Javon Belcher. Articles calling her a gold digger or…

Ladies this fish dish one of my favorite dishes. Salt crusting is an ancient tequnique that makes for an impressive presentation .While you may think that baking fish in salt will make it taste salty but the salt crusting keeps the fish extremely moist almost ike steaming it. Be sure to use the freshest fish you can find make sure that you have it gutted and de-scaled. I will usually use sea bass, red snapper, or…

Ladies we all know Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving with out a sweet potato pie. My dad has been divorced from my mother for over 20 years he still talks about her sweet potatooe pie and how much he misses it. This recipe I am sharing is very similar to my Mother's recipe. One thing I learned about making a sweet potatoe pie is that when you bake the potatoes instead of boiling them the texture of the pie is better not so "mushy". You can also…

Ladies, what would Thanksgiving be with out some Collard Greens? I can't imagine the worst part about making greens is cleaning them. Be sure to rip the hink "vein" out of the middle, soak in water ( I always clean my food with lemon it is a natural antiseptic) Chop the greens before placing in the pan, makes them easier to serve when they are done. I used smoked turkey in this recipe feel free to use ham hocks or neck bones if…

Ladies, I don;t know too many who don't enjoy a hearty cheesesteak sandwhich while they are enjoying a Sunday afternoon game. I like to make them at home sometimes instead of ordering out. The great thing about a cheesesteak is you can customize it to your liking with assorted toppings and sauces I will provide you a basic recipe and some suggestions for add ons as well. I would suggest serving the cheesesteak with French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, or…

Ladies,
I often hear from women they need something to make with their main course. They are sick of the same old rice, potatoes etc. I was thinking of what to make with the steak I have marinading at home and instead of a regular baked potato of french fries I decided to make a family favorite during the holdiays Sweet Potato Souffle. When I am cooking for family I use the whole recipe but when I am cooking for two I halve this recipe…

Ladies, homemade pesto sauce is one of my favorite things to make in the summer and it is very easy! In my opinion homemade pesto sauce tastes better than the mixes & pre bottled stuf they sell in the grocery store especially during this time of year when the ingredients are easy to find! You can use this sauce with any kind of pasta (I am obsessed with angel hair and whole wheat angel hair when I can find it) and any kind of…

Ladies by special request I am posting my Paella Velencia recipe. I haven't made it in a while. It takes a little more time than most of the dishes I post, but is worth it. This is a definite attention grabber great for entertaining as well. If you have to go shopping for Saffron I'm warning you now that it is pricey for a very small amount (it is the most expensive seasoning in the world ) Thanks to GiGi i may be making this this weekend I haven't…

Ladies I come from a cooking family EVERYONE ( for the most part) in my Family can THROW DOWN this includes my Dad! My Dad has taught me a lot of secrets when it comes to grilling and pleasing the male tastebuds. I can grill some serious "Man Meat" as my dad likes to call but the Beer Can chicken is always a hit! I like making this because it so easy tender moist and flavorful and fairly low maintenance so I have time to sit in on the spades…
